About Heidi
Heidi's real estate dealings started early. She bought her first home when she was twenty, determined to own property rather than rent. She believed in planting gardens, making nests, and waking up hearing birds... and she hears birds even now, living on a boat! (Yup, she owns the yacht).
Heidi lives life with an artist's eye. In her previous career as a graphic designer, she received several awards for out-of-the-box approaches; she was always surprising her clients. In 2002 she decided to focus her creativity on helping people through the process of buying and selling homes. It was an entirely natural extension of her skillset to a field she had always been passionate about.
Problem solving had been her gift as a designer, but when she turned her attention to real estate her superpower really came to life: she can see diamonds in the rough.
She empowers clients to get the most for their money, and so navigating this competitive market is her new creative outlet. She loves her work!
Heidi's greatest satisfaction comes when she can assist someone who never thought they could own a home get into one of their own. It is entirely possible, especially if they are willing to branch out and not follow the herd. Buyers who look at property’s others have passed by who are interested in building equity in a home, those are her people. And she loves sellers who will let her showcase what they have in new and exciting ways. Let her give you an example: To sell an old 1906 urban farm, a lovely property, she designed a vintage-style fruit crate label and hosted a farmers’ market to attract buyers who would appreciate the history of the place, and its future potential.
Heidi grew up in Seattle and moved to San Francisco in 1997 for a graphic design position. Like so many people, the weather and diversity are what convinced her to settle in the East Bay. Not surprisingly, she is a maker. She loves making the things she needs, and when she figures out how to make them, she makes lots and gives them away!! She has discovered that she is surprisingly good at making pie. She has won the Alameda County Fair contest with a blackberry-rhubarb concoction.
Heidi is also passionate about exploring the outdoors: windsurfing, cycling, camping, skiing, and boating all sound Like fun to her. She has three grown children and two granddaughters; when she is not playing hooky with them you can find her listening to her large vinyl collection that includes everything from Claudine Longet to the Gorillas, as well as tons of movie soundtracks and old Hawaiian music. In the summer months she will sit on the deck of her boat with friends and family. She is happy anywhere there's wind, water, and sunshine.
Heidi loves the team at Winkler Real Estate Group. Daniel is a top-notch respected agent and broker. But what she really likes about him is that he is a prince; he's so generous, so supportive, and so accessible. He has worked elsewhere, but the level of his attention is unsurpassed. And in their office, everyone is a winner; everyone is celebrated. Danny creates a wonderful atmosphere—he is truly one of a kind.
