J.B. Lawrence

A native of Watauga County and having grown up on a farm in the Cove Creek area, J.B. has a deep bond and appreciation of the high country. He married his high school sweetheart, Lynn, and together have proudly raised two sons and are enjoying their eight grandchildren that all live and share his love of our mountain paradise.

Community service has always been a huge part of J.B.’s life. His past and present involvement in the high country include the local fire department, rescue squad, Rotary Club, Hospital Board, Chamber of Commerce Board, Watauga Country Board of Adjustment, Blue Ridge Energy Board of Directors, High Country Council of Government, Blowing Rock Arts and History Museum Finance Committee, Ruritan Club and twenty eight years on the Blowing Rock Town Council in which he held the office of Mayor of Blowing Rock for twenty years.

Along with being a public servant J.B. has a wealth of business experience which includes owning and operating a home heating oil business and landscaping company. He recently retired after 31 years of banking. J.B.’s business experiences and knowledge of the local area have prepared him well for all facets of your real estate needs.

J.B. enjoys spending time with family, attending Appalachian State football games, traveling and golf. You will be sure to find J.B. in the woods when hunting season rolls around!
