Jack Nix

Jay is a native Mississippian but has called Washington, DC his home for over 25 years. He fell in love with real estate after buying his first condo in Adams Morgan in 1999. Even though the search was over, he kept attending open houses and exploring developing neighborhoods. Eventually he found himself spending his weekends helping friends find places to live. So, he decided to transition from a career in public relations and television to real estate.

After starting as a realtor with another outlet, Jay joined a brand-new Washington, DC brokerage named Compass in 2015. Jay believed this then up and coming brokerage offered new opportunities for him and that the resources offered by Compass would complement his own skills as an agent to help him better serve his clients.

Over the past few years Jay has been recognized for his hard work and devotion to clients by being named a Washingtonian Magazine "Top Agent," chosen by the Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors for their “Recognition Award Winner" prize and selected as a "Top Producer" by Compass.

Not only is Jay sought after by buyers and sellers, but he is also an in-demand expert having been interviewed dozens of times by television outlets such as the BBC News, ABC News, FOX 5 DC, NBC 4 Washington, and Washington's cable access channel.

One of Jay's passions is photography, and he loves taking photos around the city and when traveling to destinations far and wide. You might also catch him singing at Shaw's Tavern on Wednesday nights.
