Jackie Dirscherl

I like to tell people that I am a “Jackie of all trades” because real estate is my third career. I spent many years working in the restaurant and hospitality industry before deciding to pursue my teaching degree. After receiving my Bachelor’s in Psychology from UNC Asheville and Master’s in Education from Western Carolina University, I spent eight years as a special education teacher working with students with special needs. My heart and passion will always be in service and working with people.

When you come to Asheville, it might take you a little while to meet someone who was born here, but I am an Asheville native! One of my passions is traveling and visiting places outside my hometown, but the Blue Ridge Mountains always beckon me home. One thing that resonates with me most about this area is all the outdoor adventure you can find right outside your door. For most of my life, my family owned and operated a group tour business, specializing in guiding adventure trips throughout Western North Carolina. From snow skiing to white water rafting, I love it all. I appreciate the many unique benefits of life here in Western North Carolina. In addition to an endless array of outdoor activities and unmatched mountain beauty, there is a lively culture and an amazing array of restaurants! My knowledge of this region is vast, and I truly love sharing my local secrets and teaching others about my home.

Life as a teacher and selling real estate have a lot in common. The rewarding feeling of helping a student understand a new idea is a lot like helping a client take the next step in their homeownership journey. For me, real estate felt like the perfect industry to transition into so that I could continue to make a difference in people’s lives.
