About James

An 18-year veteran of the business, James entered the profession during one of the most difficult economic downturns and credits much of his success to his tenacity during those early years. A former schoolteacher and marketing professional, James is a self-professed multi-tasker who prides himself in his ability to connect with his clients in each and every transaction. He has leveraged his knowledge of technology and social media to make Baldwin & Griffin’s marketing initiatives memorable and impactful.

James & Andrea began their partnership in 2008 and have grown their team thoughtfully over the last 15 years with a focus on finding a smart and energetic team of agents that can serve a broad geographic region and diverse clientele. They have been consistent top producers in a very competitive environment. Their business has grown exponentially thanks to their extremely satisfied referral base.

The Baldwin & Griffin Group (now a team of 6 awesome agents) joined Compass in late 2021 as early members in the Baltimore regional marketing, practicing out of offices in downtown and North Baltimore. The team has embraced the Compass brand and core values as they take advantage of the agent-focused platform of tools to aid the customer experience.

James spends his free time with his husband and two Norwich terriers working in his yard of his Ruxton home or enjoying the pleasures of their second home and boat in Sherwood, MD just outside of the beautiful town of St. Michaels, Talbot County. In addition to servicing clients throughout the metropolitan Baltimore region (including Ruxton and his beloved Otterbein in downtown Baltimore), he loves to help buyers locate second homes and retirement homes on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
