About James

James’s career as a Real Estate Broker began in 1985 and he served as Broker-in-Charge for 27 years before joining Beverly-Hanks in the Fall of 2020. James has been active in his state and local associations for many years. He has served in several roles including as a Director of the North Carolina Association of Realtors, Chairman of the Professional Standards Committee, and twice as President of the Asheville Board of Realtors where he was honored as Realtor of the Year. Growing up in Asheville, he loved calling the mountains home and being outdoors in the natural beauty of Western North Carolina. He and his wife have three adult children and one granddaughter. Being active in their local community is important to them. James enjoys serving through ABCCM and his church. For many years he served as president of the Mountain Amateur Athletic Club which is an organization that recognizes the accomplishments of local high school and college athletes. He also enjoys volunteering at their local high school. As a graduate of the University of Tennessee, He is an avid Vols fan.
