James is the President and CEO of Southern Classic Realtors, Southern Classic Holding Company, Southern Classic Academy, and Southern Classic Inspections. He has been licensed since 2004. He has a strong passion for our industry and believes wholeheartedly in helping others achieve their goals and desires.
From the beginning of his career, he has been all about education and furthering his career by learning everything he could about the real estate business. He would say that he was like a sponge at every conference or meeting he attended, soaking up valuable knowledge from some of the top colleagues throughout Georgia and across the country.
James holds his esteemed GRI Designation which he feels was a major reason for his success in his early days.
He also believes in giving back, he is a Platinum RPAC and President Council Hall of Fame Major Investor.
James lives in Athens, Georgia. He is happily married to Karen Hamby, who also happens to be a realtor. Together, they have five children (Kheri, Ryan, Kaleb, Jason, & Kamryn) Four of them are grown and one is still in high school at North Oconee High School.
Two of his sons, Ryan Hamby, Managing Broker, and Jason Hamby, IT Director are licensed Realtors and work with James at Southern Classic Realtors. His daughter-in-law, Kimber Hamby is his Controller as well.
He believes in Faith, Family, and Friends and strives to maintain balance equally with those three. Be Careful, if he has any time to spare, you might catch him playing a round of golf or two.
