James Reid arrived in Washington, DC, as many do—a transplant. Raised in a military family, James traveled a great deal growing up, seeing most of the US by grade school, and ultimately settling in the DC region. James studied Physiology and Neurobiology at the University of Maryland, College Park. When deciding whether or not to pursue medical school, he realized his passion was in business. James successfully started and grew a commercial printing company from scratch and grew it into one of the most successful in the DC region. James attributes his company’s success to two things: a focus on serving the client and establishing scalable systems. James’ printing company’s success ultimately led to its acquisition and James’ exit from that business.
That entrepreneurial drive, coupled with his strong business acumen, negotiating skills, and unique understanding of the local market pushed him into real estate. James brings with him first-hand knowledge of the nuances each real estate transaction entails. He has himself owned properties, including investments in all three local jurisdictions.
When beginning to work with each new client, James listens to their needs and develops a plan of what they should expect during the buying and selling process. Consistent communication, foresight, and his focus on his clients’ needs allow James to guide his clients through any transaction – whether it be their first purchase, buying and selling simultaneously, or purchasing an investment property.
James is a licensed agent in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. In his free time, James loves to travel. Some favorite travel destinations are South Africa, Italy, and Greece, to name a few.
