It was a pleasure to work with James to find my new home in Florida. I had contacted him remotely from Boston prior to coming to Sarasota to spend two months. He helped me by keeping properties in my price range front and center in my inbox. When I arrived I fell in love with the Condo Community where I was renting. James showed me about six or seven properties for sale here and we chose one that I loved. Throughout the bidding process he provided good counseling and once the offer was accepted he helped me find inspectors, mortgage brokers, lawyers, etc. By the time he accompanied me to settlement he felt like a firiend and I'm looking forward to a followup drink to celebrate.

When we decided to sell our Florida home and relocate to Kentucky, we hired James since he was our agent when we originally purchased the home and he helped us find it. He did a great job of marketing our home by listing it on multiple websites, holding an open house and using his network connections. The photographs and description included in the listing highlighted the features of the home very well. James followed up on all the showings to solicit feedback that was very informative. Although the market was not favorable to sellers when we listed our home, we were able to sell it at a price that worked for us. I would highly recommend James to anybody looking to sell (or buy) a home in the Sarasota area. He is friendly, knowledgeable and a very hard worker.

We couldn’t provide a higher recommendation for James Tassell, Realtor. Like many, we had decided to move to Sarasota from the Northeast. As we prepared to pursue real estate opportunities in the area we encountered the well-documented, unprecedented real estate environment of low supply/high demand. While this drove prices up, it also made for a highly competitive field of buyers. We knew that there was a strong likelihood that we would be making offers on houses “sight unseen”. We needed a realtor who was responsive, understood our needs and wants, and could communicate clearly. We interviewed several realtors and chose James for exactly those qualities and he did not disappoint. James found us a house in a highly desirable neighborhood and utilized his “high tech” remote video walk through to make us comfortable to make an offer. This is the second time we have used James. Last year it was to buy a house, and he found us a great deal on a beautiful home. This time it was to sell my father's house, which he accomplished in four days at a great price. Both times he stayed involved, helpful, and active, even after the contracts were signed.

We were selling the condo of our deceased family member. The condo was in Florida and the rest of our family was out of state, across the country actually. James was always responsive and professional. He texted me timely updates and always got right back to me. Over a period of more than five months, he helped us coordinate several repairs needed in the condo. On multiple occasions, James recommended workers, met delivery people, cleaning crews and workers. He even forwarded mail on several occasions. I always knew I could count on him and he always did what he said he’d do.

From the very start, James consistently kept us aware of all properties that met the criteria that we were looking for. We live in the northeast and discovered Longboat Key on a family vacation 15 years ago. As a family, we enjoyed LBK’S natural beauty, accessibility, variety of activities in the area, and the relaxing pace to the area.

About four years ago, we decided to look at vacation properties on LBK. Our first call was to James based on a Google search...the conversation went something like this:

“My wife and I want to explore condos on LBK, it’s exploratory and may take a few years to make a decision either way. Also, we don’t know much about the market and we will need to get educated and will need someone in the market to help us with that...this will likely be a long-term sales process.”

James responded, with “No problem, I’m happy to help!”

James set us up on the Dwell website, and as he built an appreciation for what we were looking for, he would send us information of properties coming on the market. We made a number of trips to LBK over the four years to relax and enjoy all that LBK has to offer as well as to meet with James. Over the four years we had an active dialogue with James via phone calls, emails and texting. We made a number of trips to the area and James was always available to show us properties.

We finally found that place we know we had to have. James’ market knowledge was invaluable as we negotiated the purchase price, he walked us through the closing process, went to the property for our home inspection while we were up north, and joined us for our walk through and closing. James was a great resource for us through our process and continues to send us emails on activity in our community. We are very happy we found James to help us and now consider him a good friend.
