I grew up in Ocala and back then we called it sloooowcaaala... (pronounced with a long drawn out southern accent) After graduating from the University of Florida with a BS in Public Relations I returned to Ocala and worked in the Marketing Department of Munroe Regional Medical Center now known as Advent Health. After a couple of years I decided to leave my slowcala for a more exciting life in South Florida. While there I helped implement Palm Beach County's first curbside and commercial recycling program. My last 2 years there I started The Resource Depot (www.resourcedepot.org) which is still in operation today. After my father, who owned a second generation used auto parts business called Haskins Auto Parts, passed away I moved back to Ocala. Not long after I married and my husband and I started Budget Blinds Of Ocala which we grew into a multi million dollar business.
