About Jana

Jana Marie Whitlock is practically a native of the Monterey/Salinas area. Her great- grandparents migrated from Oklahoma during the Dust Bowl and settled in the Alisal. She moved to the Corral de Tierra area in 1976 with her family. Bob and Yolande Whitlock, her parents, created Salinas Valley Realty and became a force in the local real estate community. She began answering phones and working for them as a teenager, then after college she helped out with Salinas Valley Realty Property Management and essentially took over the business in 2011 when her parents retired from actively working with buyers and sellers. She is a recently licensed Realtor and is eager to help both buyers and sellers make their way through the maze of issues involved in a successful sale.

Educated locally, she went on to College of Notre Dame for her undergraduate degree in Business and Sociology. She then went on to Fresno State to get her Master' s Degree in Social Work and then additionally became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2004. She is also fluent in Spanish, having lived in Guatemala and Mexico for 9 years. Her counseling skills will benefit any client she serves in the real estate arena.
