As first-time homebuyers, we did not immediately know what we were looking for in an ideal home. Jane was there for us from the very beginning, educating and advising us every step of the way. She has a tremendous amount of industry knowledge and guided us with patience and grace. We felt comfortable asking any question, no matter how basic. She always answered everything with helpful reference points to recent market trends or relevant examples she's observed with recent sales.

We really appreciated Jane's ability to empathize and accommodate additional needs we had as first-time buyers. Knowing we're in one of the most competitive, fast-paced and expensive housing markets, Jane went the extra mile to help ensure we felt comfortable and supported. She spent two hours walking us through a practice offer so we could familiarize ourselves w/the process and feel less intimidated by the overwhelming legal processes entailed in home sales. She highlighted things to look out for that would not have been apparent to us had we done this on our own. When we finally made our first offer, we felt more prepared and it eased some of the stress in making such a significant life decision and major investment.

For every home we were interested in, Jane would check first if there were any immediate red flags worth raising (e.g. foundation issues, anything that may require upfront costs/repairs, etc). If no major concerns, she'd then patiently wait for us to see things for ourselves and let us form our own opinions without bias. She was very respectful in waiting to hear what we thought first. We never felt influenced or pressured at any point. If there were things we didn't like, she'd immediately take that feedback and adjust our search criteria and suggestions that she’d send to us. If there were little things that we didn't like but weren't major deal breakers, then she'd offer additional insights (E.g. whether this was a resolvable issue, how much something like this may cost to address, or whether something was commonly seen or anomalous). She offered great ideas and was able to envision future home improvement projects that we didn't have an eye for at the time. It was very nice to have that added lens of seeing the potential in a home that wasn't tangible to us yet.

Knowing Jane had other clients, she still made us feel like we were her only and most important client. She was very responsive, incredibly prompt and always two steps ahead of us. She was always prepared before we even needed to ask for things. She was also skilled in predicting whether a listing was over/under-listed and how much it will probably over-bid for. After a house sold, my husband and I would later check online and Jane was pretty spot on. It was beneficial to have a seasoned professional like this b/c it also saved us time from pursuing things that were very likely going to be out of our budget range.

It's also such an emotional process to buy a home and Jane acknowledged that with us from day 1. It's not just about trusting someone to help you confidently make a major life investment, but you also want someone who is going to advocate for you and provide whatever support you need. We never would have gotten our first home without Jane going above and beyond. Our house was taken off market before we could see it, and the sellers were considering renting it out. But Jane called the listing agent and arranged a private showing for us. We were able to get in and we made an offer that same day. It all happened so quickly, but Jane was well prepared and coordinated with our lender and we made a smooth offer without a hitch. Even when we were nearing the deadline time, knowing we needed to be fast, she still remained incredibly patient and calm. We were very nervous, so Jane having that kind of composed demeanor and presence is what we needed to get us through it haha.

Overall, we had an excellent experience. We felt so reassured having someone like Jane in our corner looking out for us, and we would gladly recommend her to our family and friends.

If you are looking for a real estate agent, look no further. Jane Shen truly made the process of looking, placing an offer, and buying a home a very enjoyable and low-stress process.

To begin, Jane Shen went above and beyond the duties of a realtor. First off, she was always available to help answer our questions in a very prompt manner at any time of the day. One example that demonstrates this point is when the house my wife looked at was only available for public viewing on Saturday. I was unable to attend myself but Jane contacted the listing agent that Saturday evening and was able to arrange a private viewing on Sunday for myself and my wife’s sister. Although we had only given Jane less than one day of notice that we wanted to view the house, she clearly had done her research about the property as she knew so much about the unit and surrounding area and thus was able to provide us with detailed pertinent information that really helped solidify our decision. Additionally, as this was the first time I was purchasing a house, there was a lot I didn’t know but she was able to educate me and explain the home buying process in a clear and easy fashion. Throughout every step, she made herself available and was able to walk me through the entire process while providing great advice and recommendations that allowed us to purchase the house we wanted.

We were very fortunate that the first house we placed an offer on was accepted. This was no doubt due to Jane’s wealth of experience in real estate, her research into the house, and good communication with the seller’s agent. She recommended a competitive offer that was still reasonable and within our budget.

She made the entire home-buying process simple and straightforward with very little stress. It was such a smooth process that I would joke with my wife by saying, “buying a house is so easy!” It clearly was only easy because we had a phenomenal realtor.

Overall, if you are looking for a realtor who will go the extra mile for you, truly care about your goals, budget, and preferences, and can provide excellent guidance backed by years of experience, I can think of no one better than Jane Shen.

Jane is professional, effective, detail oriented, prompt to question, and works with client throughout the process patiently. This is the second time we work with Jane buying a property, because the current place we stay at is too small for the new baby. Jane asked our requirement early on and sent matching properties to us week to week. This was very helpful and saved us a lot of time! As most buyers, we ended up not going for certain property because we rediscovered and realized some new criteria. Jane works with us through these changes patiently! Last but not the least, Jane was particularly accurate in estimating the offer price based on # of bidders. She talked to the listing agent to show our strong interest. Jane was recommended to us by friends who bought their first home with her help. She brings an immense amount of experience, confidence, and depth of knowledge that made the purchase of our first home as worry and trouble-free as one can hope for.

We had previously put an offer in on a home with another agent who provided minimal support and insight. In contrast, Jane was patient with us as inexperienced buyers, friendly, and tremendously communicative. Throughout the two-month process of viewing homes, submitting offers, and escrow, Jane was in contact with us around the clock despite our process spanning Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, and a pandemic. She is truly committed to her clients, and her passion is evident in her actions.

Jane is an extremely professional and dedicated realtor. She was our selling agent, and she made sure that the unique features of the property were highlighted correctly while listing the home. She took care of every little detail in a timely manner. In a span of two weeks, she had all the disclosures, marketing materials and all necessary documents ready for listing the home. We are so glad one of our friends referred Jane to us, she made the entire house hunting process fun and stress free. As first time home buyers we were ignorant about a lot of things and she made sure at every step we received the right guidance. She clearly understood what we are looking for and what’s best for us.

She was very punctual ! We just closed on our new home working with Jane Shen, and, thanks to Jane, it was a very smooth experience. Jane is a solid professional and super-dependable. What we appreciate the most is that it's not all about money for her; it's about the relationship. Prior to this we had been working with Jane for almost 6 months looking for our new home in Cupertino, and Jane was very patient and supportive as we learned the reality of buying a home in the Bay Area in Covid times and in Cupertino, in particular. Jane has a network of professionals she works with, including a mortgage banker, who gave us the best service (and the best rates!). At one point in our home search, when things were not going so well (due to no fault of Jane's), she practically held our hands and gave us hope. And sure enough, a week later we were in contract! Jane worked tirelessly for us, and wrote the purchase contract while she was on vacation. Late one evening, while she was on vacation, our offer was accepted and we celebrated together over the phone! Closing was the fastest, smoothest transaction ever, and we were actually ready to close several days before the date. We really owe Jane a huge debt of gratitude for finding us a home that works for us in the location that works for us at a price that works for us in a time line that works for us!

We felt extremely lucky to have found Jane as our real estate agent on the recommendation of a friend who had previously worked with her. Jane provided simply outstanding service at every step of our home search and purchase. She tirelessly showed us houses, even over the New Year vacation period, managed to arrange tours at short notice, and gave us plenty of insight into the pros/cons of properties we looked at. She was extremely responsive, and also helped us parse disclosures to understand which issues were material and had an impact on value and resale.

When we decided to put in an offer, Jane kept her ear to the ground, and used her excellent people skills to ensure our offer was competitive and likely to be accepted. We had been in the market for some time, and worked with another agent and lender, with disappointing results. We worked with Jane’s recommended lender (shoutout to Vance and Faisal at Golden1!), and were able to close extremely smoothly in 21 days (which feels like a record), without contingencies, and at a great rate!

At appraisal time, Jane took the effort to compile market data on recent sales and present it to the appraiser to help ensure we appraised at sale price (actually slightly above).

Jane is super responsive, has a keen understanding of the market, and has invaluable insights and recommendations when it comes to choosing a home. We now look upon Jane as a friend, and continue to be in touch with her even after closing. She continues to share helpful information re contractors for small projects related to our home. I am generally picky. My husband and I had slightly different ideas about the house and even location. So it wasn’t easy for Jane to work with us. However she was very patient and never pushy. She is a great listener and remembers our tastes. She often told me “How about your husband? What does he think?” She told me that my husband and I had to come up with the same idea. I think she sees these common problems between men and women. After quite an intensive journey we reached the right home in my favorite place with good price. I "stumbled" upon Jane from a recommendation since I was interested in a property and was not working with an agent at the time. Little did I know, I had one of the best agents in my corner. Jane is extremely responsive and always puts her client's interest first, especially helping me navigate the process as a first-time home buyer. We were looking for a place on and off for about 6 months and have had some bad luck with past realtors. We were SO lucky that Jane was recommended to us. We had no idea what we were signing up for. After our first initial meeting, we knew right away that we were in good, experienced hands. We felt relieved after talking to her. Yes, maybe this time we’ll find a nice home with her help! Anyone house hunting knows the process is gruesome, tiring and spirit breaking. Jane sees it differently and she created an amazing experience for us. She was so sincere, kind and warm. She listened to us and was never pushy about anything. She was an absolute unit when it came to researching, asking smart questions, negotiating and just 100% keeping OUR best interest in mind. She’s got a great sense of humor and would quickly diffuse any anxiety and worry you might have.
We made an offer at such an insane, crazy time during the shelter in place order. Everything was madness. Offices were closed or had reduced hours causing our process to delay a bit but Jane was always there to comfort us. Our trust in Jane had us pull the trigger. About a year ago, my boyfriend and I setup an initial meeting with Jane. We weren't looking to buy just yet, but as soon to be first-time home buyers, we wanted to get a better understanding of what the process would look like. Jane spent almost an hour talking us through the whole process - answering all of our noob questions along the way. Most importantly, she understood where we were at at the time and didn't pressure us to start the process right away.

Instead, we kept in touch via email over the next 6 months or so. She would send us listings every now and then with detailed notes so we could get a sense of what was out there in the market - things to look for, red flags, pros/cons of various neighborhoods, etc.. This lightweight process actually helped us a lot. As we saw more and more listings, we were able to get a better idea of things we liked and didn't like, as well as what aspects of a home were most important to us.

Fast forward a couple months later and we were finally ready to start seriously looking! Jane was with us every step of the way. She helped us get our pre-approval rushed on Super Bowl Sunday!! Did not know such a short turnaround was possible. But then again, it's Jane. We could always count on her for an honest perspective, and it was clear that she always had our best interests in mind. When we were ready to make our first offer, she made herself readily available to answer any questions we had. And we had PLENTY of questions. We were on the phone almost every night the last few days leading up to the offer due date walking through all the different documents - making sure we understood everything that we were signing. When it came time to put down a number, she helped us make sure that we stayed within our budget AND not overpay. Even though we didn't ultimately end up getting the house, we felt ready to take on the next one.

One week later, we found our dream home that checked all the boxes! We were SO happy we waited. Jane worked with us closely over the next few days to put together a compelling offer. Everything came down to the wire. There were so many competing offers, but Jane pulled us through. This was just a few weeks ago, and even now, we're still pinching ourselves for reality checks :) We had to meet a tight deadline for closing, and she made sure we knew exactly what we needed to do, when different things needed to get done, and helped coordinate with the various stakeholders to make sure everything went through on time.

Jane has been a great realtor and can easily say that with our purchase experience she is one of best realtors we have worked with and we are now great friends with her!! So lucky to have her help us buy our beautiful home :)

As every buyer we had a tricky situation when we met with her regarding our home buying situation and she was more than happy and willing to spend her time and energy to find a house that meets all our needs & budget. She showed us few homes and she was always honest about home facts and the pros and cons of each of the homes we saw. We never had to worry about missing out information or doing our own research as she would have done a thorough analysis and provide a detail report on schools, all the potential hazards, train/highway noise, safety, rental opportunities and resale potential etc. We saw few old homes which needed some work and she had her contractors team to provide us realistic estimates on price & time which helped us evaluate if this is workable solution for us or not. Then she suggested to look at a private listing of a newer home in a great location and we loved it but we felt it was out of our budget then she made us see the potential by running some comps and explained how good deal it was and that we should at-least try. My husband and I felt we could give this a try and Jane helped us through out the way on taking time to explain the process, review all the disclosures & wrote a competitive offer. Then finally we got the house for the lowest possible price by finding out as much info as she could and accurately gauging the right offer price, she also got a lot of extras (home warranty, house cleaning, etc)for us as part of the offer, she connected us with the best lender who not just gave us an attractive rate but also provided a nice credit towards closing, she also looked out to protect us since the sellers were planning on staying for few more days after closing (get $3000 security deposit for the rent back just in case), she also worked very closely with the sellers realtor to meet our specific needs (arrange for the contractor visit even when the sellers are down with a flu, get someone to be present for our sign-off when she was unavailable, and trying to get our flooring material stored, etc), she was always very responsive to our questions or concerns. Her responsiveness was the same even after we closed the house, she coordinated with sellers and their team for any questions or concerns we might have after moving in. She provided a lot of insights on how to maintain the house and also stayed in contact. If you are like us who like the realtors to provide all the info and not to be pushy instead make us see the potential and are easy to work with then I would fully recommend Jane!! She is a full service realtor and she puts her heart and soul to find your dream home for the best deal you could get!!

My husband & I had been discussing purchasing a bigger home for about 3 years but just the thought of putting up our house for sale and looking for a new home was just too daunting... until Jane came to help us not only to buy the house of our dreams but sell our beloved house in no time!

We could not have done it without Jane! Our house went on the market in May and after the 1st week end of the open house, we were fortunate to have a very solid offer. It would not have happened without the guidance of Jane - we listened and got the results that we were both looking for! ... it was not easy for her as we are both busy with our professional lives and raising 2 young children but she set up a google calendar and took charge of ensuring that we hit every single milestones! Our family was very fortunate to have Jane as our agent. Our family had some very specific requirements that Jane was able to address and meet beyond our expectations.

Three things that really set her apart:

1. Excellent communicator: Jane was always prompt in addressing our questions. She was great at listening to our needs and understanding what we were looking for in a house.

I am writing this review to highly recommend working with Jane Shen when embarking on your search for a new home. As a first time home buyer, I was clueless about the process and flooded Jane with of all kinds of basic questions. She was always very calm, understanding, and responsive which made me feel more comfortable navigating the home search/buying process. I’ve no doubt that Jane works with many clients simultaneously, but I always felt like I was her top priority. Her years of experience and researching the market were evident when she recommended an offer that put me just ahead of the 2nd highest bidder without overbidding. Lastly, I won’t forget what Jane said to me when she gave me the keys to my new home. “Our relationship is no longer agent/client, we are friends now.” Thanks to Jane, I was able to find the perfect house for me. :)

Not often do you meet the agent at the place that you end up buying, but for us that was the case! We had been looking off and on for the last year, and on a whim we checked out a place that was a bit out of our budget but in an area that we really liked. At the open house, we met a friendly agent who was showing the place on behalf of another agent. As we were checking out the place, we started talking to this agent and were surprised by how genuinely nice and knowledgeable she was, and we really appreciated her direct and honest answers to each of our questions. We took her card on the way out, and when we got home we decided we have got to get her as our agent, and that’s how Jane became our agent!

We were first time home buyers and Jane patiently guided us through the whole process. She answered all our questions, and was quick to follow up to a text, email or phone call. She even kept in touch with us while we were traveling abroad. She is very knowledgeable about the local market and was able to get us the place at a price we felt comfortable with.

When Jane acts as your realtor she does not just treat you as another client, she treats you like family. Jane helped us to buy our first home. As first time home owners we were clueless, however with Jane’s help we felt like pros. She educated us in every step of the process so we fully understood and could make educated informed decisions. We never felt like we were jumping into something we did not feel comfortable with or comprehend. She allowed us to feel satisfied and elated with our final home purchase.

At first we had a lot of expectations and detailed desires for our home. She searched the market far and wide for exactly what we were looking for, while at the same time advising us on criteria that would allow our house to become not only our first home but a valuable investment for the future. Jane is extremely knowledgeable of the Bay Area locations that are good investments and close to developing businesses.

Jane is also a great communicator when it comes to connecting to the builder, seller, mortgage broker, or anyone involved in the process.

Anyone who has purchased a new home knows that there is a mountain of paperwork. This can be daunting and may seem like you are signing your life away. However, Jane is an expert and can advise you on the purpose of each document and that can drastically simplify an arduous ordeal.

Jane was not only my realtor for our purchase of our current home but she also represented us for the sale of our previous home. I cannot say more about what a fantastic and committed job she did for us.

In preparation for the sale, Jane went all out, even enlisting the services of her son and father! I asked her to make the house look so good, that I'd regret moving. She got the stager in and made the preparations necessary and true to my ask, I really did regret moving!

We put our home in February and we had high hopes that it would sell fast and well. We had a lot of traffic and while we got an offer, it was my decision to turn it down. Jane was with me 100% and we put it up for another rainy weekend. When we came up empty handed that weekend, Jane was really really supportive throughout and was also really honest about where we were at. I would call her frantically and she would offer words of comfort and advice. Finally the third weekend, we got an offer that we loved and moved forward.

Jane guided us through the selling process and helped us make good decisions.

Thank you Jane! It's too bad I don't buy/sell houses all the time!
