Janet, the award-winning, Founder and Owner of The Coughlin Group Luxury & Fine Homes, leads this high-achieving team as a realtor and associate broker. With over $350 million dollars’ worth of real estate personally sold, 250 transactions closed, spanning 12 Sarasota regions, Janet has made a name for herself that is synonymous with Real Estate. However, Janet never rests on her past or laurels, she places a very high priority on continuing to educate herself in the real estate market and has self-motivated to earn several of the most prestigious real estate certificates.

As a native Long Island, New York gal, Janet earned her bachelor’s degree in interior design from the Maryland Institute of Art. However, NY would not be her forever home; calmed by the seas of the Chesapeake Bay and Annapolis, MD, home of the United States Naval Academy, she enjoyed living and working for two decades in Annapolis where she founded and operated her interior design business, with a luxury home renovation focus. Known for her keen eye, attention to detail, on-time scheduled delivery, at a competitive price point, she was a highly respected amongst the best builders and realtors alike.

Beginning her career as an entrepreneur and interior designer, a natural evolution occurred enabling her transition into real estate, however, settling in was Sarasota by accident. Oddly, her love for MLB baseball was the catalyst. Upon vacationing in Florida one February for Spring Training baseball, the life-changing epiphany occurred for her. “After visiting and discovering all that Sarasota and the general area offers (beyond baseball), e.g., culture, dining, fitness, and beaches, I thought, ‘I can live here’. So, I moved here!”

Today, she is still a big fan and pre-season ticket holder at the Baltimore Orioles Ed Smith Stadium. She’s proud to have provided her real estate services to several of the Orioles players as well. However, being a Sarasota resident now, she has introduced the Tampa Bay Rays, and Tampa Bay Lightning to her repertoire of professional sports teams she enjoys (but she’ll always be a Baltimore Orioles die-hard!).

Those that know Janet describe her as fun and friendly, yet her Long Island NY sense of humor has never left her. She’s warm, intelligent, and an extremely devoted real estate agent and broker, ensuring her client’s desires are always met.
