Born in Knoxville, TN, after graduating from Ithaca High School (NY), Janie attended and graduated from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, with a BS in Public Health Education. After a career in Medical Education, she found the invitation into the practice of real estate to be a perfect niche. Originally licensed in Knoxville, TN in 2005, she relocated to Warner Robins, GA less than a year later for her husband’s job with Boeing. While in Georgia, she practiced real estate for 8 years at a prestigious boutique agency before relocating a second time with Boeing, this time to Charleston. Having experienced relocation and starting over several times, Janie understands the challenges of moving to an unfamiliar area and has many resources and connections to help make the move and transition easier!
Believing that they should all continue to grow, learn and give back throughout life, Janie is a perpetual student and teacher. She has continued her education and earned her GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute), CRS (Certified Residential Specialist), ePro (Internet Pro), MRP (Military Relocation Professional) and most recently, her CIPS (Certified International Property Specialist). She is a charter member of the newly formed Coastal SC chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors, a member of the Charleston Top Producer Club, a supporter of RPAC (Realtor Political Action Committee) and a recipient of the Silver Circle Realtor of Distinction award. Not only does she thrive on education, she also loves to teach, mentor and share her skills in not only real estate, but also life skills and balance. Over the years, she has helped hundreds of people buy and sell homes. She’s passionate about helping people achieve their dreams, whether it be in the purchase and sale of their homes or mentoring fellow agents in the growth and development of their real estate businesses.
Janie has lived in old Hanahan since 2014, in a 1960’s home that her husband and she has renovated under the guidance and direction of her daughter, who is an interior designer in Knoxville, TN. They also have a daughter who is an RN in Houston, TX and a son who is in the US Air Force, currently stationed in Albuquerque, NM.
