Janis McHarg discovered that she had a passion for negotiation and creating contracts while working as a paralegal at a Seattle law firm. In 1998 she decided to get her real estate license and transition into real estate law, but quickly realized she enjoyed helping others achieve homeownership and became a real estate broker. Janis never looked back. Today she continues to work as a broker and is based out of the Anacortes John L. Scott office.
Throughout her career Janis has made a strong commitment to providing exceptional real estate services to each and every one of her clients, whether they are buying or selling. A large part of that is listening as her clients describe their needs and wants. She then takes those desires, questions, concerns, provides helpful advice, and produces tangible results.
Janis loves collaborating with all clients, whether they are experiencing the excitement of finding their first home, upsizing, downsizing, or relocating for a job. She specializes in waterfront homes as well as condominiums, new construction, and residential resale in and around Anacortes, Mount Vernon, Burlington, Sedro Woolley, La Conner, Oak Harbor, Camano Island, and north Snohomish County.
Her clients remain her top priority, especially during the buying or selling process. She is readily available to answer questions and provide reassurance. Janis also employs several marketing tools and techniques in her approach including professional photography, Facebook advertising, market analysis and open house weekends to help market her listings to a wider audience.
Coming from a military family and having a son who in the past served in the Army Reserves, Janis feels a strong commitment to donating to military organizations that provide services and financial support to military members. She also cares deeply for furry critters and donates to pet organizations that help animal shelters feed and care for dogs and cats.
In her spare time, Janis loves to get out and go boating and snowmobiling in the Pacific Northwest and sport fishing in the Florida Keys! She also likes to spend time with her husband, cooking together and riding their Harley. Janis also adores her pets!
