About Janna
JJ and her work/life partner Paul Rastler grew up on the Oregon coast, received their architecture and environmental design degree (JJ) and business degree (Paul) And University of Oregon. They bought their first home in 2011 and spent the next decade moving around Portland's East side fixing up their own old homes, while helping others buy and sell theirs. They now live on 22 acres outside of Portland with their two dogs and 14 chickens. They joke that their job is helping people find homes for their dogs (like they did). In reality, JJ & Paul have been helping their friends, friends-of-friends and clients-turned-friends buy, sell and invest in residential real estate for a myriad of reasons since 2012. Real estate moves are typically very big decisions and every single one has a completely unique reason behind it. We love helping our friends and clients to meet and exceed every unique goal.
Our business model is purely word-of-mouth. We strive to offer as full touch a service as you will find anywhere while remaining affordable and fun. We possess a ton of first-hand remodeling experience, a fastidious designer's attention to detail along with two collective decades worth of negotiation and transaction experience. We know Oregon well, we have approached home buying, owning and selling from many angles ourselves, and we know the importance of getting all the details right before, during and even after your transaction ends. Reaching out to real estate agents can be daunting. We aim to be high-information but low-pressure and try to match our client's enthusiasm levels with our level of communication. We want to be helpful and available.
For Buyers: We've attended hundreds of inspections & love touring homes with our clients to ensure we highlight their hidden secrets (both good and bad!) and we love searching for hidden potential. We want to meet homebuyers where they are, matching their enthusiasm without bombarding or pressuring them, while ensuring they get as much energy from us as they desire. Once we identify and negotiate an ideal home purchase, the inspection process begins & we are thorough! We recommend up to 6 or more specialty inspections depending upon your goals. These are affordable ways to avoid expensive pitfalls & maximize repair negotiations.
For sellers: We have an incredible team of trusted connections that we dispatch to quickly fix, freshen, decorate & photograph for market ready and often magazine ready launch. We typically can pull this all together in a 1-2 week timespan to minimize impacts to our seller's lives & maximize the ease & success of their sale. Our goal is always to present a gorgeous home & its compelling story to the market on day one, which generates a smooth, quick & cooperative sale making your experience as seamless as possible. Then y'all become new friends and happy clients who tell more great folks about us, keeping our word-of-mouth business going.
Successful negotiations help move a conversation forward and transform the process into a win-win agreements. Negotiation is not only a skill, but a mindset. We want to lead negotiation conversations ensuring that your goals get heard and met to ensure we maximize the final outcome for you. We oversees every detail of the real estate transaction: inspections, appraisals, title, escrow, and loan processes. Communication and collaboration with all the partners and parties involved with the transaction ensures a smooth and timely closing. Before, during & after a sale, we are available to support you in your home.
