About Jason
Jason Block recently took over the operations of J.D. Block Services, Inc., after finalizing a position with a $13B well capitalized and publically traded bank.
Jason’s most recent roll was a VP of Bank Owned Properties, where he was involved in the management and sale of over $100 million of commercial properties including the Delray Beach Yacht Club, PGA Flyover, in addition to numerous other commercial sales throughout South Florida and the Florida Keys. During his stewardship, he was responsible for the management and disposition. Property management tasks included securing property, “Green Belting” properties, site inspections, tenant negotiations and working with municipalities for entitlements, development rights, plans and permits. He would analyze and value the REO through internal evaluation, market research and appraisals, determining market value and presenting to senior management for approvals. Acting as agent for the bank, with responsibilities the disposition tasks of showing properties, analyzing offers, negotiating terms and pricing, assemble due diligence items, coordinate contract signing and closings. Additionally, Jason assisted in the preparation and justify Maximum Bid Pricing for foreclosures, short sale negotiations. All work completed and performed is in accordance with Loss Share and with the guidance of FDIC and in accordance with Loss Share agreement with FDIC.
Prior to that, Jason was a Special Assets Credit Officer, where he was involved in the distressed assets team to strategically place and restructure assets. Responsibilities included monitoring overall commercial loan activity and determined the degree of risk involved in extending credit i.e. renewing or extending matured loans, performing annual loan reviews, site visits, data collection, problem loan reporting and assisted customers with concerns or issues. Managed a portfolio exceeding $400MM. Performed financial analysis and narrative presentations of new and existing commercial loan requests. Additional experience in specialty real estate including hotels, medical centers, mini-storage facilities non-profits, golf courses, and service stations. Assisted in the valuation process and negotiations in asset note sales. This included developing analysis tools and spreadsheets, calculating IRR and future returns for potential note buyers. Financial analysis included spreading corporate and personal financial statements, discounted cash flows, identifying trends, reviewing appraisals, preparing cash flow projections (including UCA), and identifying sources of loan repayment.
Jason also held an Asset Manager position with Woolbright Development, and was accountable for 1.8 million square foot retail/office portfolio of existing properties valued at $500MM and was also an Investment Analyst at Apartment Realty Advisors (ARA) and was involved in the financial analysis, marketing and sale of over $6B in multifamily and mixed-use real estate assets, each with market values from $10MM to well over $300MM.
He received a Bachelor of Business Management from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, FL.
