My career began as a professional singer/songwriter. After moving to the business side of the industry, I built an entertainment agency providing studio, tour, and booking services to A-list clients from Jay Leno to The Gin Blossoms. After an intense 12-year run and an acquisition exit, I began my post-music business journey, founding and co-founding startups (and selling them), supporting several nonprofit ventures, and doing my best to be a great “Superdad” (thanks @NickSarnicola).
I’ve always been a big dreamer and risk taker. I’ve made and lost fortunes. Like most, my entrepreneurial path has been a roller coaster of extreme highs and painful lows, but I wouldn’t trade it. I’ve flown Gulfstream, partied with Rock Stars, and seen the most beautiful sites in the world. I’ve been beyond blessed and I am filled with gratitude for it all.
As a founder, co-founder, investor, and consultant, I’ve helped start, grow, or exit 26 ventures, totaling over $3B in team sales and $25M raised for charity. As a “medical dad,” I’ve learned strength, humility, and faith from my firstborn son. As a “coach dad,” I’ve learned empathy, sacrifice, and endurance from my second-born. 2021–2023 brought my son (and our family) through major medical trials, now thankfully resolved.
From the “peanut butter in a van” lows to the “private jet” highs, these experiences have shaped my views on business, consumers, and ethics. I believe For-Profits and Non-Profits can learn from each other and better serve people. I believe smart profit strategy should power self-sustaining systems that serve both commerce and community. I believe in building models that create lasting impact for both society and shareholders.
These beliefs led me to my final entrepreneurial endeavor: a first-ever partnership with my father. Together we launched selleio™ (sell-ee-oh), a national real estate disruptor. We are a tech-forward, consumer-first, cloud-based brokerage that sells homes at 3.5% or less (vs. the old 6%). We pay 100% of agent fees and deliver our agents a $100K base of deals from year one. I’m thrilled to bring 30 years of experience to this industry, delivering a better, more affordable consumer service, while partnering with Habitat for Humanity in every closing. selleio™ proves profit and purpose can thrive side by side.
