Jay Hughes

Jay is a long-time resident of Dover with deep roots in our community having grown up, raised his family and situated his business here. After graduating from Dover-Sherborn High School, Jay attended Harvard College. Following his college graduation, he returned to Dover to begin his long and illustrious careers in both real estate and in municipal fire and rescue.

In 2016, Jay retired from the Dover Fire/Rescue Department after 50 years of service with 23 of those years as the Fire Chief. He remains a local fixture as he continues to oversee the bustling operation of Dover Country Properties, the firm his father started in 1962, located at the heart of Dover’s town center. It is here that Jay delivers an exceptional depth of knowledge of our community and of local real estate in order to cater to each of his client’s transaction needs.
