About Jay

Jay Shaw started his real estate career in 2002 investing in multifamily property part-time while serving in the United States Marine Corps. Jay and partners successfully raised over one million dollars in capital began flipping multifamily properties in San Diego. Due to being severely wounded in Fallujah, Iraq in 2004, Jay moved back to Houston to be close to family and friends where he founded Watertight Property Management, and began building a real estate portfolio in the Houston area. Actively buying and selling his own properties led to Jay being recruited by a commercial brokerage firm in 2007. Licensed as a realtor in 2008 and Broker in 2015, Jay was Top Producer for Remax One Commercial Division 2010-2013 then served as VP and Broker of Cullen Realty Group from 2013 to 2019. After founding Shaw Real Estate in 2019 Jay has continued to focus on value-add multifamily, commercial income property and land. Shaw is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Texas Association of Realtors and the Houston Association of Realtors, Texas Apartment Association, Texas Self Storage Association as well as other state and local real estate investment clubs.
