When I began visiting Hawai’i in the 1970s, I dreamed of living in a close-knit community like Waimea. I finally traded soggy, gray, and cold Pacific Northwest winters for living on the Big island full-time in 2020. I now start my days paddling va'a with Kawaihae Canoe Club, enjoying every sunrise over the Mauna. Before my career in teaching, I was a resort market specialist and realtor. Growing up in Sunriver, Oregon, I visited Hawai’i nearly every year. When I moved to the East Coast for college, I quickly realized that not everyone lives in a year-round vacation destination with mountains and ocean backyards. I am tremendously lucky to have had this experience. After college, I parlayed my economics degree and technology skills into a successful real estate sales career in Central Oregon. I built our company’s first property search website and created marketing campaigns for golf course developments and second-home properties. I also taught others how to use technology in a burgeoning online world.
Educating clients about market conditions and vacation home ownership is second nature for me. Living in Hawai’i now, I use the tools of the digital marketplace to keep in close contact with buyers and sellers and help my clients with the complexities of transactions that span thousands of miles.
