About Jennifer

About Jen

Moving north to Bainbridge Island with her husband and young daughters was an attainment of a goal for Jen’s family. They were looking for a change of pace and after our first visit to the island we were smitten with the water, the mountains, the ferry, and most of all the friendliness of the community.

Leaving behind family, fond memories, and city life in Northern California, they headed for the Pacific Northwest, and experienced firsthand what it is like to relocate your lives with young children.

Now, over a decade later, she loves living and working in real estate on the island and her husband enjoys his virtually stress-free bike/ferry commute into Seattle.

They selected Bainbridge as our home for many reasons, one major reason being the school district. She feels good about her kids going to safe, small, quality schools and because she primarily works on the island she can do things like volunteer in their classrooms, volunteer for Rotary, sit on school district committees, and participate with the Bainbridge Schools Foundation.

Jen grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and then attended UC Davis, majoring in English and Anthropology. I earned my MA in Education at Sacramento State University. After college, Her and her husband lived in Davis and then eventually settled in the Land Park Neighborhood of Sacramento where they bought their first home together.

Jen’s first career was teaching and writing. She feels that her ten plus years as a middle school and high school English teacher and teacher-trainer prepared her for the ever-changing world of real estate. She is a great multi-tasker, am keen on technology, have more patience than the average gal, and have the intrinsic desire to continually keep learning – especially about the world of real estate.

Before moving to Bainbridge Island, Jenn also sold real estate in the Sacramento Metro Area for two years.

Jen admits that she is obsessed with houses and unique/quirky properties. She has the most experience working with families new to the island and she enjoys helping them make their transition to island life a successful one.

Jen’s Qualifications

Jen is a full-time broker who is conscientious, honest, organized, prompt, and ethical. Her style is low pressure with more of a focus on customer service than a sale. And she listens to her clients. She understands that the real estate market is an ever-changing animal. She is constantly reading and studying the market, especially her unique Seattle/Bainbridge Island niche market.

Jen has been a licensed Realtor in Washington since 2007 and in 2020 she also earned her Managing Broker‘s license, which means she can manage an office or a team. Her husband is also a licensed broker and works on her “team” and helps her prepare homes for listing. She is also an Accredited Buyer’s Representative and a Certified Negotiation Expert. She is a member of the National Association of Realtors and the Kitsap County Association of Realtors. In short, she takes a lot of classes and keeps up with the current laws and trends.

Yes, you want a broker who can find you the perfect house, and Jen enjoys that part of the job. However, she understands that you also want a broker who can construct a contract that protects your best interests. She takes that aspect of the job quite seriously. As a realtor, she respects that you are entrusting her with your time, your money, and your home.

If her background, skills, and style fit your needs, she looks forward to working with you.

Giving Back

Jen considers living on this beautiful island a privilege. She is grateful that her profession allows her to give back to the island. After the close of each transaction, she enjoys donating a percentage of her commission to island housing, land, and education non-profits. Average gifts are $500. The bulk of her donations have gone to the Bainbridge Island Land Trust, Helpline House, and the Bainbridge Schools Foundation. These donations are in addition to the per-closing donation made to the Windermere Foundation, which supports Kitsap County charities. She is grateful for her clients, and she enjoys thanking them by improving the quality of life for everyone who calls this island home.
