Jerry Jones

Jerry Jones founded Jones Commercial Development Company in 2017. The company is engaged in the development of commercial and mixed-use real estate projects, land sales, and land use consulting with a geographic focus on the Greater Wichita Metropolitan Area.

Previously, Jones served as Vice President of Commercial Development for the Slawson Companies for over 19 years. In that capacity, he oversaw the development, management, and disposition of the company’s substantial commercial real estate portfolio. The most noteworthy of the projects spearheaded by Jones was the “ground up” development of NewMarket Square in west Wichita. The 110-acre former grass farm was developed into one of the largest shopping centers in Kansas. The development now encompasses over 850,000 square feet of building area and housing over 100 businesses including nationally prominent retailers and restaurants as well as local favorites.

Before his work with the Slawson Companies, Jones was Vice President of Downtown Development for the Wichita Area Chamber of Commerce. In his five years with the Chamber of Commerce, he served as Executive Director of the Wichita Downtown Association and the Wichita Downtown Development Corporation and was instrumental in recruiting the developer and structuring the deal for the Hyatt Regency Convention Hotel.

Before moving to Wichita in 1992, Jerry worked as a planning consultant in Colorado. He began his career in Scottsdale, Arizona with the City’s Planning and Economic Development department where he worked for seven years as the downtown development manager and urban designer.
