Jim Bailey grew up in Raleigh and attended Woodberry Forest School. He then went on to graduate from Duke University. He has been involved as both the developer and owner of Commercial & Residential Real Estate for more than 30 Years. He and his wife, Katherine, had been “second home” owners in Atlantic Beach before making it their permanent home more than 25 years ago. Jim & Katherine live on the sound front in Atlantic Beach. Jim is an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Morehead City, having served as both an Elder and Deacon. He also serves on the Boards of a number of local charities including the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament, The Barta Boys and Girls Club, Billfish Tournament and the Big Rock Foundation. He is also a member of the Carteret Health Care Board of Directors and serves on several subcommittees. He also served two terms on the Atlantic Beach Town Board as well as several terms on their Planning and Zoning Board. He is an active pilot as well as boater.
