About Jim

Jim Kinney is the Vice President of luxury home sales, spearheading Baird and Warner’s Luxury Portfolio program at the sales level out of the market-leading Gold Coast office. He is responsible for developing new initiatives that enable Baird and Warner sales associates to maximize their upper-tier residential marketing efforts on behalf of clients.

Jim joined the Baird and Warner sales team from Rubloff Residential Properties where he served as president. Throughout his distinguished career, he has been deeply involved with a number of professional real estate organizations at the local, national, and international levels. Both the Chicago Association of Realtors and the Illinois Association of Realtors (IAR) have honored him as their “Realtor of the Year.”

Jim is the current President of IAR and has served on many IAR committees over the years, including his tenure as dean of the Realtor Institute and president of the Real Estate Education Foundation. He holds the Certified Real Estate Specialist (CRS) designation, served as Illinois CRS chapter president, and was twice recognized as “CRS of the Year.”

In addition, Jim has served on the National Association of Realtors (NAR) executive committee. He is a current member of FIABCI, the international real estate federation, and was president of the National Board of the Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers in 2009.

Before joining the real estate industry, Jim enjoyed a career in advertising. He is currently a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Executives Club of Chicago. Jim is president emeritus of the Advisory Board of the Illinois Eye Bank and was honored to be named a presidential liaison to Ireland. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University.

Jim has many professional designations, including CRS, FIABCI, Certified Residential Broker, Graduate of the Realtor® Institute (GRI), Quality Service Certified (QSC), and Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR).
