A fourth-generation Oregonian, I spent most of my life in eastern Oregon, but a lot of my summers traveling to the central Oregon coast, with a goal in mind that “some day” I would live on the coast. That goal was achieved just over two years ago, when I moved first to Waldport and then to Yachats, where I live just a block off the sea cliff. Falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves is something that everyone should be able to have in their lives – let me find you a home on the coast! I obtained my real estate broker license in late 2006, and through a reciprocal agreement between the states, was able to sell in both Oregon and Idaho. My record there was showing 23 houses in four cities on a three-day weekend, to an older couple from Colorado who were trying move closer to their son. After they returned home, they said they had seen a house in the newspaper that looked good, and wanted me to check it out. I walked through thehouse, describing each room to them via cell phone (no Skype kind of tools back then), and they told me to make an offer. I argued that they hadn’t even seen it themselves, and they replied, “We trust you. After showing us 23 houses, you know exactly what we like and don’t like.” Luckily, it turned out well for all of us. As soon as I had enough years of experience, I earned my principal broker’s license in 2010 and established my own business (Joan Davies Real Estate), based in Burns OR. I assisted clients in the sale and/or purchase of residential properties and acreages, from Burns to Prineville to Canby during those years, always going the extra mile to support my clients through the whole process.
