Joan spent 20 years in the corporate world, with several different multi-nationals, developing business knowledge and people skills that are essential to success in almost any field. Even when she had her own business, working as a consultant to help business owners align their organizations and talent base to meet their strategic goals, she spent her spare time doing what you are doing.... surfing the internet for Ocean City real estate!
In 1997, the business she was working for wanted her to take a position in southern New Jersey, and what sold her on moving was that she realized that she could live at the shore. She started in Cape May and drove up the coast, spending time looking at each town until she got to Ocean City and fell in love with it!
She learned firsthand what it is like to try to find a home in Ocean City, and because she was looking for a year-round residence, it has given her a different perspective than many who only approach Ocean City as a second home market. The realtor she worked with continued to ask her to look at properties with him and give him her opinion of their worth, and she realized that it was time to switch professions once again. She got her license in 2001 and achieved the Circle of Excellence Gold Award in 2004, selling over $17 million in properties. Even in the down markets of 2008 and 2009, she achieved bronze status. She enjoys working with both buyers and sellers and devotes most of her efforts marketing the properties she lists for sale. She believes that the secret to selling properties is to discover what makes each one unique, and to emphasize that uniqueness throughout the marketing campaign. Look for her listings anywhere online.... she tries to syndicate them as widely as possible!
She realizes that buying or selling a home is not just a big decision, but a process within itself. She focuses on making the process work for the individuals involved and that is what brings results. That means educating the new buyer about the whole market and helping them identify what they really want; it also means being ready with hard data for those who like to crunch the numbers. If you want to work with someone who will work at your pace to meet your needs, just e-mail Joan, or give her a call!
By the way, Joan does not work all the time. She is an avid photographer and carries her camera with her constantly. She also hikes in the Pinelands, body surfs in the summer, bikes and runs and spends time sailing and power boating. When she has time, she enjoys a leisure round of golf. Of course, she checks out what is for sale along the fairways! See her work, and listings, at www.Joanfarrell.com
