Joel was an incredible RE agent. He prioritizes his clients - not the sale of a home. I felt this through the countless questions I asked and all the homes we went to look at - whether for reconnaissance or actual interest. He really recognizes the emotional experience of buying/selling a home and brings a lucid mindset when navigating a tough market. He was always honest and incredibly communicative throughout the process. He even took additional steps to help us understand and gather information about city-owned alleyways. As a first time home buyer, I couldn’t be more grateful for my experience with Joel.

I can’t say enough amazing things about our experience working with Joel in purchasing our first home. We met Joel at an open house in January 2021 and instantly clicked and knew we wanted to work with him. He thoroughly explained the process every step of the way and was available any time we had questions or wanted to see a house that had just come on the market (even a last minute request to see a house on his birthday). Joel completely understood what we were looking for and was able to provide insight into the various strengths and weaknesses of each property. Joel ultimately found our dream home in March and worked quickly to put in an offer and negotiate with the sellers. We couldn’t be happier with our new home and I can’t imagine working with anyone else!

I had originally chosen the same realtor that sold my home, to find me a new home, even though I hadn’t been 100% satisfied with her. Eventually I decided to go with Joel Camara instead. I found him to be exactly what I needed to help me during a critical period of my life--not in the best of health at the time, looking for the last home I would likely ever buy. It took me a long time to find a place. I searched in many communities and areas of Portland. Many realtors would have given up on me as I changed my mind about where I wanted to move, and even if I wanted to move at all, but Joel was there for me 100% during every phase. I felt that he really cared for me above and beyond whether he made a sale or not! A rare quality! Just as importantly, he was incredibly knowledgeable and professional in every aspect of the market, and he took a super pro-active stance. For example, he mailed notices that he had a potential buyer in that community to over-55 communities I was interested in (something my previous realtor had refused to do—and Joel took the time and expense to do it before I even mentioned it!) When I decided to look outside of Oregon, he graciously connected me to a colleague who was just as pro-active and amazing as himself, and every time a home outside of Oregon was viewed, Joel himself was present as well as the colleague. After the sale, Joel took me out to celebrate, brought gifts, and what I believe to be our forever-friendship was solidified. I just love this young man and highly recommend him!

We worked with Joel to buy our first home and had a wonderful experience! We knew near nothing at the beginning of the process, but Joel took the time to educate us and answer any questions we had. He was available to us daily and at almost all times, making us feel like his only clients (come to find out we were not the only ones!). With the high competition and low inventory in the Portland area, we had to move fast and Joel knew this and always acted to ensure we were in the best position to see the houses we were interested in first. He also helped us to write competitive offers, showcasing our strengths and flexibilities where appropriate which got us the perfect home on only the 3rd try! We are so pleased with our house and with the work that Joel did to help us get it. I can't recommend him enough!

Joel was our realtor during the COVID-19 epidemic. We had been "ghosted" by another reator and Joel stepped in and exceeded ALL our expectations. He kept in contact with us, had great ideas, and was always helpful to answer questions and make suggestions. He sold our house in five days, DURING the epidemic! And then he worked so hard to find us a new home. We are in love with our new home and Joel has become a good friend. Do not hesitate to hire Joel. He's the best.
