As always, John has been incredibly responsive to our needs and answers all of our questions in a very professional manner. John always made us feel like we were his only and most important client, even though he's incredibly busy. He arranged professional photos and excellent advertising. My home sold quickly with two offers the first day and one the second. In the age of Covid-19 I feared being exposed to the illness but John provided safety items and directed those who were touring my home so that I felt safe. I highly recommend John if you are listing your home, or if you are seeking a realtor to help you find your perfect home.

As new residents of the Austin area and of Texas, we knew little about the housing market here, what to expect when buying a home in Texas, as well as the areas/cities/neighborhoods in the Austin area. We were also moving to Austin in the midst of the pandemic, when the housing market felt the most unstable, and our lives felt the most uncertain. We had a lot of questions, and John was always patient, supportive, and willing to talk through any of our concerns. His years of experience as a realtor in Austin - as well as his interest and deep knowledge of all things related to buying, selling, and constructing houses - was such a comfort and relief to us. He was responsive and available anytime we felt the stress of the house buying experience, and most of all, we appreciated his honest feedback and candid approach in allowing us to be the driver of our home choices. He never let the timeline push us into a quick decision. When we did finally find the house that would be our forever home, he was quick to act and be responsive in a very fast moving housing market. We are so grateful he was our realtor and would recommend him to anyone looking to purchase a home!

After just becoming first-time homeowners, my wife and I look back and don't regret having chosen John Crowe as our realtor. Among the recommendations we got, we picked the one we judged to be more experienced and that decision paid off.

Here are some cases that can be highlighted in which he was very helpful:
- He saved us around $30,000 in repairs that otherwise we would have to take care when moving in or in the near future. For instance, the roof needed new shingles and other fixes the seller wasn't willing to pay for. He convinced them to apply for insurance and it was covered, so we spend nothing.
- He pointed out situations in the process where something was incorrect or we were being overcharged, for instance the appraisal fee that had been waived by the lender but had been incorrectly included to the initial version of the Closing Disclosure.
- He managed all inspections and gave me great recommendations for hiring required services, such as home warranty and insurance. We did look into alternatives but we weren’t able to come up with better quotes by ourselves.
- Given the purchasing process is very complex and involves lots of companies and people, he demonstrated being very knowledgeable of what had to be done in each step and the possible outcomes. Of course not all things happened exactly as we expected but, as a first-time buyers, we can say we had very few and minor surprises.

While searching and visiting homes he was very hands off, which wasn't unexpected as he explicitly stated he didn't want to be pushy and potentially lead to a hasty decision. My wife and I were given plenty of room so that we could set our own pace when looking for homes, which was really helpful since we're carrying a newborn. We went to see homes on multiple occasions, some far away, and we were never treated like we were being a burden, even when our baby was crying!

Perhaps you would prefer another realtor if you want someone more opinionated.

We bought our first house with John and, when we decided to buy our second, there was no doubt we'd work with him again. John is not an average realtor by any stretch of the imagination. Thanks to his years of experience in Austin realty, he knows the city and the business to a level that's much deeper than an average realtor. He's professional, straightforward, and honest. He does all that while being friendly and personable in a way that doesn't make you feel that you're being treated as a client.

I'd highly, highly recommend John to any prospective home-buyer.

John guided us through each step of the recent sale of our house with expertise and professionalism. He brought in a staging consultant, at his expense, to help us get top dollar for our home and took care of all the technical parts of the home sale in a way that made it so very easy and stress-free for us. Working with John Crowe has been an absolute pleasure for me. He truly represents the needs of his clients in different aspects of the Home Purchase process including but not limited to:

1. Giving honest feedback for a property to the client

2. Patiently supporting client queries and preferences about property search

3. Keeping the client calm and following through the home closing process with lenders, sellers and contractors

4. Being super responsive even after post-closing until the client is ready to drive the things by themselves.
