About John
He has been working in the real estate business his entire life. As a child and teenager, his father—one of the first licensed Florida Real Estate Brokers—would take him on appointments to preview homes, development sites, and buildings throughout South Florida and the Treasure Coast. He was taught to love and value the entire real estate sales process.
His early career was in site sales for a development in Hobe Sound. In the mid-1980s, he transitioned into banking and became proficient in the mortgage and real estate financing sectors. In the early 1990s, he moved to Martin County, where he opened his own business, which grew to be very successful in the food service industry. Later, he became an investment advisor and the vice president of a large regional bank.
He was originally licensed to sell real estate in 1981. He resumed selling real estate in 2003 as a sales associate, working with several firms and one auction company before acquiring his broker’s license and founding what became Sailfish Realty of Florida, and eventually Engel & Völkers Stuart.
With his diverse background in real estate sales, he has sold large parcels of land, commercial buildings, and residential homes. His home sales have ranged from small starter homes priced at $60,000 to private estate homes valued at over $2 million.
