Joseph Shirk

Joseph moved to New York City from Michigan in 1998. He and his partner, Joseph Stafiniak, often visited friends in Tivoli and that's when they fell in love with the Hudson Valley area. Both worked in the fashion industry at the time, and in 2000 they bought a weekend cottage on the outskirts of Rhinebeck. They winterized and updated their hilltop retreat and soon found themselves wanting to spend more time in the country. In 2006, "The Josephs" decided they would like a little more living space and found an 1800s farmhouse in Columbia County. They continue to work on their home and gardens and find great delight in it. Shirk pursued his interest in Interior Design and received his degree from Parsons School of Design in 2010. Joseph's passion for design and architecture led him into real estate. He joined the Hudson office in 2011. When Joseph looks at a house, he sees two structures: The one that exists, and the one that it could become.
