Joy Carlson

Joy entered the real estate business over 30 years ago with a passion to succeed and to help make ends meet as a single mother of three children. After a few years of selling, she moved her way up to a management position at Vacation Properties Network and eventually purchased that branch and renamed it Annandale Properties, Inc. Back in the early 90’s Joy’s office was on Annandale’s Main Street. In the late 90’s she expanded her business, moved to Hwy. 55 and did a remodel to house the largest independently owned real estate company in Wright County.

Over the years, Joy has achieved many accomplishments in the real estate industry. She is a top producing Realtor and member of the elite RE/MAX 100% Club and RE/MAX Hall of Fame. But to her, the greatest achievement of all is the loyalty of her clients. They say repeat business is a measure of one’s success. If that’s true, then the fact that Joy has worked with the children of many of her repeat clients brings that definition of success to a whole new level!

Joy has been active in the real estate business not only as an Owner/Broker and agent, but she has also worked to advance the profession. She has served on the Minnesota Area Association of Realtors (MAAR) Ethics and Professional Standards Committee for many years, she sat on Corinna Township’s Land Use Task Force, an appointment she received from the Wright County Commissioners, and she Co-founded Carlson Investment Properties with her husband and “silent” real estate partner, Dave Carlson. Joy also received her MBA of Real Estate from the University of St. Thomas.

In addition, Joy makes time to be a supportive grandmother to her 6 grandchildren. Family is extremely important to Joy which generated her motto of “take care of your clients like you would your family if they were buying or selling a home”

And speaking of children, one of Joy’s daughters, Marci Segner has been Joy’s real estate partner since 1998. Joy has enjoyed being able to pass along her years of experience to someone that she knows shares her same pursuit of excellence.

Helping people buy and sell homes is not just a job, it is a family tradition. Joy and Marci understand the demands of life and the value of spending time wisely. Making good use of time is one of their trademarks. “Respect for your client must come first”. After all, helping people buy and sell homes is not just a job, it is a family tradition.
