Julie Gilbertson

Julie is a Realtor who really cares, taking the time to listen to people, and help both buyers and sellers find what they're looking for. Helping people comes naturally to Julie. It's a family tradition.

Julie Gilbertson was born in New Orleans and raised in the Uptown and Lakeview areas. She attended St. Dominic's Elementary, Cabrini High, and studied Psychology at Delgado. Summers were spent at family camps in Mandeville and Lake Catherine. She grew up enjoying family picnics at Pontchartrain Beach and Christmas shopping on Canal Street. Her grandmother was a member of the Wells family, who started the Wisner's Playground for underprivileged children in New Orleans. Grandmother Wells also helped start Pete Fountain's Half Fast Marching Club and worked with King's Daughters & Sons Home for underprivileged children on the lakefront in Mandeville. The family were supporters of St. Elizabeth's Orphanage, which later gained fame as the gothic residence of legendary author Anne Rice.

Julie married in 1979; she and her husband lived in Baton Rouge for 14 years, where they were involved in the community. The Gilbertsons served in the foster and adoptive parent programs for several years. Julie worked as a counselor for a crisis center as well as for a ministry. She also worked at a bank and did sales for a Cajun food company. It was in Baton Rouge that Julie took the job that launched her career in Real Estate. She represented two builders who were developing new subdivisions.

It was Julie's job to host open houses and create information sheets on the homes. She showed homes to potential buyers, answering their questions and seeing to their needs. Becoming a Realtor allowed Julie to combine these skills with her desire to help people. She truly cares about her clients. In fact, most clients become friends.
