Her name is Karen Schuster-Driftmeyer, and she has been visiting Priest Lake for over 50 years. When she was young, her family rented a place near Horton Creek for about eight years, where she made many cherished memories, such as swinging on the twirly swing, playing in the cabin on rainy days, jumping off the giant rock in front of the cabin, and having fires on the beach.
When Karen turned eight, her parents bought a couple of lots up from Cavanaugh Bay. They worked for years to clear and build their one-room cabin, where Karen slept in a cot in the kitchen. Over the years, they expanded the cabin, and it is still there today. Karen raised her four kids by spending as much time as they could up at the lake, creating fantastic memories together.
Karen got married at Elkins 21 years ago, and her daughter got married at Hill's in 2020. Her husband and her two youngest children moved up to Priest Lake from Spokane in 2011 and have never left. They built their forever home in 2018 and plan to stay there as long as possible. Karen is now blessed with two beautiful grandsons whom she knows will love the lake as much as she and her family do.
Having a deep knowledge of the lake, Karen helps her clients find the right areas to live in. She has been selling Federal and complicated State leases for years, including lots, land, and waterfront homes, including boat-only properties. Karen loves that her job is never dull, and every sale is unique. She can honestly say that she learns something new with every sale. Karen started working as an agent in 2014 and took over as a broker in 2018.
Karen firmly believes that Priest Lake is North Idaho's Crown Jewel, and she encourages her clients to find their little piece of heaven there. With her knowledge and expertise, she helps her clients start creating their own cherished Priest Lake memories.
