Kelly Easter

Kelly's roots in real estate were deep from birth. Her grandfather owned the Easter Auction Company in Alcoa, TN. Growing up, attending real estate auctions on Saturdays was the norm. Kelly remembers the smell and texture of old books, hardwood flooring and the smell of established gardens, etc. All snapshots of people's lives....tangible reminders of the things they used to mold their home. This was always so fascinating to me. Easter used to wonder why people chose specific paint colors, for example. Did it make them feel happy to have a light lavender kitchen? How many home-cooked meals came out of the garden... and where did the dinner table sit? She loved touching everything and imagining the lives of those who had lived there. These experiences enabled her to appreciate that a "home" is so personal from individual to individual or family to family. A house adapts to people's personalities, unique tastes, and their sweat and muscle work. To match clients with a house that offers them the ability to create their idea of home is thrilling to her. Kelly moved to East Nashville fifteen years ago and really started to appreciate the renovation of homes that had not seen any life or attention in a long time. It's so fun to see houses that are no longer cared for and dilapidated come to life again with a new owner's ability to see what could be; a home to provide comfort and happiness for many years to come and a space to build on their dreams. She has completed projects on her own properties, including the renovation of an old Auto Diesel College boarding house that was transformed into a lively little four-unit space in East Nashville. While she changed a lot of the property, she knew how much the old manager loved the house and called it home too. She left some of his touches, like his established irises and some favorite yard figurines. Bringing the past and the present together in older homes is one of her favorite things. Kelly really loves what she does.
