Kent’s extensive real estate career spans 25 years in Austin with new home sales at DR Horton including on-site experience, and as a sales manager and division president. His experience with Horton exposed him to all aspects of the real estate transaction including land development and construction. He’s also been involved in starting home-building operations and development work with his own projects, including a 39 unit condominium project in South Austin. Furthermore, his experience as a real estate investor has allowed him to see the benefits of diversifying an investment portfolio in the Austin real estate market.
While personally selling over 300 homes with Horton he was involved with nearly 35,000 new home transactions during his career. With that exposure came broad knowledge of the entire Austin metro area. He also has extensive contacts within the new home community. Kent feels that his knowledge and experience is a tremendous benefit to his clients. He understands the individual’s needs in purchasing a home for their family as well as the investor’s needs in finding a sound place for their money.
Born and raised in Wisconsin, Kent attended the University of Minnesota for undergrad and Texas A&M for graduate school. He met his future wife while working in Houston and moved to Austin in 1992 with her when she attended graduate school at UT. He’s been married for 26 years and they have 3 children. He enjoys cycling, golf, and travel. Kent’s bucket list includes visiting all the US National Parks (40 down, 22 more to go).
