About Kevin
I’m Kevin Copeland, broker and owner of Jefferson Real Estate. I’ve spent most of my life surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes of Colorado, particularly in the High Rockies, where I feel most at home. Being involved with Park County from a young age, I learned to love everything the mountains have to offer: hiking rugged trails, off-roading through winding paths, mountain biking, snowboarding fresh powder, camping under star-studded skies, and honing my skills at target practice. These mountains have shaped who I am, and I’m proud to say that my roots here run deep.
My career path started with a fascination for technology. I went to college for computer programming, diving into C++ and Pascal, and studied computer network management. While I enjoyed the challenge, I soon realized that sitting behind a desk full-time wasn’t for me. I needed a career that got me outside, working with my hands and interacting with people. In 1996, the family launched a construction business, focusing on both stick-built and modular buildings. That experience gave me a solid foundation in how homes are made from the ground up.
By 1998, I transitioned into real estate, drawn to the idea of helping others find their perfect mountain properties. My background in construction gave me an edge—I could see potential where others might not and understand the value behind each home’s build. By 2001, I was a top producer in Park County, a reputation I worked hard to maintain. Jefferson Real Estate, where I was part of the team, was the top-producing company in the area from 1998 onward, proving our consistent dedication to clients.
In 2005, I took on managing the company’s advertising and online presence, blending my tech knowledge with real estate strategy. A decade later, in 2017, I bought Jefferson Real Estate and have proudly led it ever since.
Beyond real estate, I’ve worn many hats over the years: running a restaurant, coordinating off-road events like *goneMOAB* for Nissan enthusiasts, and managing businesses. I’m also an off-road enthusiast myself and love photography and spending time with my family. No matter what I’m doing, my connection to the mountains and the community around them is always at the heart of it.
Owning and running Jefferson Real Estate has been a journey I’m grateful for every day. This business isn’t just about properties—it’s about helping people build their own stories in the Colorado Rockies, just like I did.
