About Kym

Kym Mellsop discovered Salida in 1994 having just graduated from Smith College in Massachusetts. Making her way back to the West Coast she stopped in Salida to visit her brother and never left. A self-professed city girl from the San Francisco Bay Area, she fell in love with Salida’s mountains and river and the slower pace of life. Kym brings to Pinon a love of the land, the river, and the people that make up the Salida community. When not working in real estate she volunteers with Heart of the Rockies Hospice, is curator for the Pinon office gallery, hikes with her high-energy dog, patronizes the arts in Salida, participates in Salida’s growing Sangha, and enjoys spending time with friends and family. She believes that between all the outdoor recreation, strong schools, and a sense of community, Salida is the ideal place to raise her two daughters, Sophia and Beatrice. She enjoys sharing her passion for the area with her clients, helping them find their perfect mountain home, investment property, or in-town residence.
