Larry Mercer

Larry Mercer is the broker/owner of Mercer Hughes Real Estate Group in Valdosta Georgia.

Mercer hit the ground running in 1998 after transitioning from a distinguished 24-year career in the USAF, where he retired at the top enlisted rank: Chief Master Sergeant.

He quickly acclimated as a REALTOR® and was the company Rookie of the Year in 1998! He now has over 25 years of real estate experience and has been a top-producing agent since he began his real estate career.

As an Accredited Buyers’ Representative (ABR) and a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Mercer works extensively with military and first-time buyers, investment purchasers, and sellers. He has a wealth of foreclosure experience as he worked for many of the top foreclosure firms for over 24 years as a listing agent.

Mercer is a serious, no-nonsense broker/owner with the education and experience to back it up. He has sold over 800 properties during his career. He is brutally honest (but still has fun along the way!) and pours his heart and soul into every transaction to serve his clients!

Mercer’s career from an agent to the broker of Mercer Hughes Real Estate Group, was a natural evolution of time and experience. Mercer teamed up with Jerry and Dedra Hughes to form their own company, and to follow their dreams… Mercer Hughes Real Estate Group strives to have the best trained agents who follow the credo of “Knowledge, Experience, and Service.”

He holds a bachelor’s degree in human resources administration with St. Leo College, and a master’s degree in public administration with Valdosta State University.

He’s a proud member of the Valdosta Board of REALTORSÒ and has served two terms as an elected Director, was the secretary/treasurer, and twice ran the local Multiple Listing Service as chairman and president. He believes strongly in the REALTOR® brand and The Code of Ethics.

Mercer has been married to Doris for 43 years, and has two grown children, Justin and Eliesha, and a granddaughter, Sydney, who is entering her junior year at Georgia State College.

In his off-time he enjoys playing golf, hunting, fishing, and woodworking.
