Selling a house can be just as stressful as purchasing one. Well, I assumed. I guess I thought getting out of something is just as hard as getting into it. Again, I assumed. Equally, I was reared to never mix business with friends. Well, in fact, I have witnessed several relationships go sour because of blended interests. So much so, that I made it a practice to not blur the lines of business with friends. Considering that I have known LaShaunda for nearly 20 years, she was one of the last people I would have ever thought to do business with. That’s no reflection on her, but a bias of my own. I’d be the first to admit, man, that I was terribly wrong.
Prior to going under contract with LaShaunda, we discussed my reservations and needs to feel comfortable. During the consultation, I was not only impressed with LaShaunda’s professionalism but her ability to transform from a friend to a real estate expert; and, at times, counsel. She set clear expectations, maintained effective-open communication, and stellar customer service.
Because I was out of town, she facilitated tenant departure, contracted vendor service completions, and property staging. She was so effective at her craft and service, that our house received an offer on the second day that it was on the market. There were some hiccups, with other parties that LaShaunda triaged in a matter of minutes.
As I closed today, I am left thinking, I can't think of another real estate professional that I've met who has handled the entire selling process with class and composure. She not only closed a deal in high heels, but she also opened an opportunity to change the narrative of friends doing business together. There were no “hookup” or short-changing taken, just a professional providing her client with superior service, who happened to be friends. I would encourage anyone seeking real estate service to first, consult with LaShaunda Rice. She will deliver and not disappoint.
