About Laura
Buying or selling a house may not happen often in one’s lifetime, but when it does, it can be a complex and stressful process. Finding a Realtor whose values reflect your own is crucial. I hope my bio below will give you insight into mine.
My job is to make your real estate transaction as seamless as possible. I draw upon my 25 years of experience to carefully listen to your needs and concerns, guide you in the ways that will serve you best, and connect you with the resources and top professionals in the area to get the job done.
Being native to Knoxville, I know the culture, the climate, the local dives, and every back road. My late father, James "Jim" Slyman, founded Slyman Real Estate & Auction over 50 years ago, and I grew up in Real Estate. My profession is truly a family affair–along with me, five of my relatives are currently in the business!
Helping people with this aspect of their lives is in the Slyman DNA. For me personally, it’s about developing lifelong relationships as a trusted partner, advisor, and friend to my clients. I work hard behind the scenes to make things easy and effortless, realizing they have their own busy careers and responsibilities to manage.
I’m committed to community and civic involvement and I enjoy being engaged in my industry. I served as the 2018 President of the Knoxville Area Association of Realtors (KAAR, now known as East Tennessee REALTORS®), and was proud to be awarded KAAR Realtor of the Year in 2020.
I’ve been honored to be included in Cityview Magazine’s Best of the Best Realtors consecutively from 2018-2023, and have been recognized multiple years as a top Realtor in VIP Knoxville magazine. I've also been a cover feature in Real Producers magazine, and you'll often find me quoted in our local newspaper, the Knoxville News Sentinel.
I’m ready to bring you a boutique-level of customer service based upon a lifetime in Real Estate. If you need help navigating Knoxville's real estate market, please feel free to contact me today! I look forward to helping you settle into the next exciting chapter of your life.
