We cannot recommend Laurie Battaglia highly enough. Working with her is a pleasure, and made our home buying experience so very much easier. Our first contact with Laurie was over the phone, and it quickly became clear that she knows the Manteo and Nags Head areas cold. When we mentioned listings that we had found online, she immediately provided us with feedback regarding the home, including its condition, its location, and its flood risk. When we traveled to the OBX, she had made arrangements for us to visit a number of homes that we had selected, with her guidance and assistance. As we viewed those homes, she provided useful information, and answers to all of our questions, and, most importantly, she listened to our thoughts and comments about each home, and helped us to process what we liked and didn't like, and what we were looking for. When we started the process, Laurie told us that when we found the right home, we would know it, and that is exactly what happened. One might think that the agent's job was mostly done at that point, but, with Laurie, that is when her value as our agent really kicked in. First, of course, was the negotiation and contracting process, and Laurie's guidance and assistance in that regard was spot on. Next came the inspection and the selection of a closing attorney. Laurie's contacts consist of the best that the OBX has to offer. The inspector performed a thorough inspection and report, and accommodated us by squeezing our inspection in on short notice. His work was characteristic of everyone that Laurie referred us to, namely he went above and beyond what we expected. This was similarly true of our closing attorney, another excellent recommendation. Not only does Laurie know the best people, but they clearly know what type of person she is, and are prepared to accommodate special requests. She has acted as a liaison with a contractor who will perform repairs identified by the inspector as well as some desired improvements. We have every confidence that the contractor will do excellent work, because Laurie knows and works with only the best people. And that aptly describes Laurie: she is the absolute best person to work with.

I would recommend Laurie to anyone that is buying or selling a home. She is honest; but most of all reliable. She recommended things to fix in the home to put it on the market and also recommended reliable and trustworthy contractors to complete the work. Laurie also went above and beyond to help us with things pertaining to the closing; finding us a great closing Attorney. She is more then just a realtor; she is a wonderful and compassionate person.

Laurie was extremely helpful in assisting us in finding and purchasing our second home in Nags Head. She was very patient as we had no sense of urgency. In fact, the house we finally purchased we looked at it on three different occasions. Where Laurie really shined was the period of time between signing the contract and going to settlement. Living six hours away, we did not know settlement companies, inspectors, etc. She coordinated all of this and actually met with the inspectors on our behalf. I would highly recommend Laurie, whether you are looking for a second home, primary residence, or investment property.
