About Leah
Leah's roots in the San Diego region run deep. They began with her great-grandparents' arrival over the old Plank Road west of Yuma. Leah's first home was on Mt. Helix, and she still has a Grossmont Foothiller gym class jersey. Leah's career in marketing and sales spans both coasts over 25 years. As signage and advertising consultant in Washington, DC, Leah worked with a variety of high-profile clients, regionally and nationally, on events such as the Race for the Cure, the Marine Corps Marathon, the Main Street programs of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and diverse political branding efforts, such as the Contract with America.
Leah returned to La Mesa in 2008 and joined the Coldwell Banker office on Mt. Helix, a stone's throw from her childhood home.
In tandem with her marketing and communications work, Leah contributed to the community in Northern Virginia and East County by working as a volunteer, special event coordinator, and board member in the non-profit sector, with particular emphasis on animal rescue.
Locally, her service includes consulting with the El Cajon Community Development Corporation, managing the Citizens for Proposition V campaign on behalf of the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District, and various assignments on the Board of the East County Chamber of Commerce, including Chair of the Board 2016. For six years, she has chaired the Chamber's flagship event, Women in Leadership. She most recently served on the Board at The Water Conservation Garden in El Cajon as well as being Past President of La Mesa Conversations, a group to promote civic engagement and discussion.
