About Leston
When Leston made the decision to move out of his hometown, Brooklyn, New York, he had several options to choose from. It was immediately after he graduated high school. His mother suggested he moved to another city near family, just in case of any emergency he needed help with. He decided to move to Dallas as his little brother's godfather lived there, making his mom more comfortable with the long-distance move.
Upon his arrival in Dallas, he decided to become a real estate agent. After several years, he became one of the top-producing real estate agents in his brokerage and would not change it for the world. When he looked back on how he got there, he realized there were several key moments in his life that led him to where he was today.
Growing up in the inner city, he knew he wanted more than what was offered to him. As a kid, his mother would take him and his brother up to the Pocono Mountains to look at nice homes, and he became inspired by a well-spoken, well-dressed, Black man who was a realtor. Later in high school, he joined a school program that paired inner city kids with prominent businesspeople in the New York area. He was paired with David Piscuskas, a successful architect who showed him how his business worked, took him to meet other successful people in New York, and even took him to some baseball games. David became a mentor and father figure to him, showing him life outside of the streets.
Once he realized his potential, he quickly outgrew his friends and decided to move. Upon moving to Dallas, he got a job at Nordstrom to pay for his real estate license, business cards, professional headshots, and professional clothing. Working as a personal stylist at Nordstrom helped him to meet many new people in the area, propelling his real estate business to what it is today.
His challenging work and determination in the real estate industry have helped many clients avoid the stress and confusion that come with the process.
