If there was a 10 out of 5 rating, Lynn would get that. We didn’t know Lynn or of her when we visited Chicago for the very first time. Within the 2 days we had, she showed us 3 different localities, helped us narrow down our preferences and worked with us over Zoom to pick a place a month later. She shepherded the negotiation and contract process and advised us on the move in details., even picking up our keys so we could get into the apartment in time for our movers. Lynn was kind to accommodate us on multiple showings until she found a place most suitable to our needs.

She is more knowledgeable than anyone I know about Chicago history including each of the 5 buildings and areas she showed us (Rivernorth/New East Side).

She is real quick too — we were always the first showing/day 1 of an apartment being on the market.

UPDATE: 1 year later
We decided to return to Ms. Lynn's services for the second time when wanting to relocate from River North to Lakeshore East.

Ms. Lynn did not disappoint! We are happy with our more modern condo, located in safe neighborhood with friendly neighbors and some peace and quiet! We had minor communication issues with our Landlord after our move but Ms. Lynn has been checking in on me and helped me conjure up quick solutions to get us situated and ensure we are covered and not responsible for any pre-existing issues. Her experience and knowledge is very helpful in that manner. Every time I see or hear from Ms. Lynn I am reminded of how appreciative I am of her hard work ethic and professionalism!!! She is the best!!!

We purchased a condominium with Lynn's assistance. Because she lives in the area, she was very informative on pricing and how the unit compared to others in the building and nearby buildings. She was also adept at navigating administrative issues with attorneys and the condo association. The unit we purchased requires a fair amount of upgrades to bathrooms and the kitchen. Lynn arranged meetings with contractors to assess the feasibility and rough costs of the desired changes which helped us decide whether to buy the unit or not. Lynn was a pleasure to work with and we highly recommend her.

Neither my wife nor I had sold real estate in a very long time. Thank God for Lynn! It was considerably more complex and sophisticated than my vague memory. Lynn Brahin removed all the stress of finding, selecting, and moving into an apartment in Chicago. I was making a big move from Arkansas to Chicago and needed to quickly find an apartment and relied completely on virtual, email, and text communication. She walked me through every step to make sure I got the place I wanted to details on the necessary required paperwork down to the move-in day logistics. She truly cared that my move to the great city of Chicago would be an enjoyable one and she continues to care by letting me know that she is still available even after I have settled in. I am grateful for all her help!

Within one month Lynn found a tenant and we signed a contract! Not to mention that first 10 days were "preparation to list": pictures, different arrangements, etc. Lynn always responds to all type of communication, her advises are good and for us she went above and beyond. We contacted Lynn when we were looking to purchase a property in Chicago. Given that we were from out of state and didn't know any realtors, we selected (based on reviews) and interviewed two agents over the phone. The first agent we interviewed was less than forthright (implying that we should mis-represent our purchase intent to appear more attractive to potential sellers), so we moved onto Lynn. It goes to reason that if he was counseling us to be less than forthright with others, he probably would not be forthright with us. Thankfully, Lynn is the polar opposite. She is direct and straightforward, and my wife and I always felt she had our best interest at hand. Throughout the entire process - initial interview to showings to negotiating to closing - Lynn was a pleasure to work with

Lynn has lived in Chicago her entire adult life and truly knows the city. She is very familiar with many of the high rises and lofts in the city. We had an idea of the property that we were interested in before contacting Lynn (a high-rise in Streeterville), but Lynn was adament that we at least see/consider other areas and properties that might interest us (River North, New Eastside). This was invaluable - while we selected the initial property that we were considering in Streeterville, visiting these other areas and properties convinced us that we selected the best property for us.

We were also pleased that Lynn sought out advice from others in her office as were were strategizing where to position our initial offer. We purchased within a week or two of the easing of COVID lockdown restrictions (in fact, our building had just re-opened to showings that week), and obviously, we wanted a good price but we also knew that others were interested in the property. So we wanted to make a low offer, but not so low as to delay the negotiating process to where other bidders might come into the picture. I have always felt that confident, knowledgable professionals are willing to solicit input from others, and this describes Lynn.

Finally, Lynn recommended a number of other parties (attorney / home inspector/ mortgage banker) who were top notch.

In summary, I strongly recommend Lynn and would certainly use her again.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Lynn Brahin for her outstanding assistance in showing us an apartment at The Buckingham. Not only did I appreciate her knowledge of the ins and outs of the apartment and the building in general, but I enjoyed her welcoming and easy going personality. She moved at our pace...answering all our concerns as well as offering her own tips and advice on the neighborhood. Lynn was almost immediate to respond to every text question I had and walked us through the entire rental paperwork process. When I met with Lynn, I was unsure about the process of renting a condo I had purchased about a year ago.
Lynn was quite knowledgeable about the ins and outs of the rental market. She had pictures taken and kept me informed about everything! I had thought that it would take a month or two to rent, but Lynn really knows this business!!!!!
The first couple on the first day looked at the condo and agreed to the price and, even though Lynn showed the condo the rest of the day and received back up offers. So, first people.....first hour......first offer, at the end of the first day I accepted the offer contingent on credit information regarding the renters!
Hard to be that!
Lynn knows the area and she knows what’s going on in the rental market! She’s a great realtor!

We have worked with Lynn twice over the last few years to find a condo to rent in Chicago. She is fabulous and worked tirelessly to help us find a place we love to call home. From the start she was very responsive and emailed us listings in our target area which met our criteria. We also found listings on our own and Lynn steered us away from particular units which appeared great in the listing but apparently had sat for many months unrented due to issues. Lynn clearly knows South Loop very well. After we found a few places that we really liked, Lynn was able to setup viewings for all the condos the next day which was impressive given we were in the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Signing the lease required some effort and Lynn seemed to be available at all hours by email and text message. She guided us through the process and was able to point out concerns during the walkthrough which we had missed. She then advocated on our behalf to have these fixed prior to move-in. Though she did not function as our lawyer, it did provide us comfort knowing that Lynn also had a legal background when we were reviewing the lease. The bottom line is Lynn made the search easy and with minimal stress. My wife and I are so happy to have found Lynn and will continue to work with her for our housing needs in Chicago!

I was lucky to meet Lynn Brahin when I was looking at Open Houses one fall weekend. At that point, I had been living in a rental apartment in Chicago less than a year, and going to Open Houses just to get a feel for the Chicago real estate market (well, that, and I just have fun going to Open Houses and seeing the other buildings in my neighborhood).

A couple of weekends later I found a condo that I loved, at a price that was reasonable. The listing agent was pushing to be the sole agent in the deal, and I was not comfortable with that arrangement. I had previously owned homes in New England, but had never purchased a condo in Chicago, so I really needed an agent to assist me with the local home buying process...and I wanted someone on my side, not a seller’s agent who was just negotiating a deal.

Lynn had made such a great impression on me at the previous Open House that I called her up and explained the situation. We decided it would be a good idea to look at other condos (in that building, in other buildings in the neighborhood, and a building I liked in an adjacent neighborhood). She was phenomenal at helping me sort through the pros and cons, and was a helpful sounding board as I went through my decision making process. In the end I realized that the condo that I originally fell in love with was definitely the one for me.

Since I was new to the area, Lynne gave me multiple recommendations for mortgage companies, lawyers, condo inspectors, moving companies, and cleaners. She has a great attention to detail, so she made sure I had all my ducks in a row throughout the long and difficult sales process.

I ended up moving in just before the COVID quarantine hit, but she still made sure to check on me a couple of times in the middle of the quarantine — even though the sale was complete. Not only is she a great real estate professional, but a wonderful person who genuinely cares about the well-being of her clients!

I’d highly recommend Lynn as a Chicago realtor for anyone buying/selling a condo or renting an apartment — especially for someone relocating to Chicago. Her wealth of knowledge about the city is invaluable; she gave me some great tips on things to see/do in the city, as well as helpful information about things like voting and volunteering. Urban Real Estate is very lucky to have someone of her caliber on their team.

We have been looking for a condo for quite a while and we have had several realtors showing us various options, many of them quite different from our wishes. It was a remarkable difference when we started working with Lynn. In no time she understood our perspective and in a matter of few days she found a perfect match. It took quite a while to close a deal, as it required major renovation, but Lynn was a tireless go-between and helped us navigate to our great satisfaction. Her help did not start the closing. Once we moved in she continued to be extremely helpful: she familiarized us with the neighborhood and introduced us to many of our neighbors (she seems to know nearly everybody living here).
