With more than 25 years of experience in real estate, Maria Blackmer has built her career on a foundation of knowledge, trust, and dedication. She began her real estate journey in the fall of 2000. In 2013, she co-founded Live Local Realty alongside Laurie Palmer and John Dinehart. Together, they envisioned a boutique-style firm rooted in personal interaction, integrity, and community connection. As part of that mission, Live Local Realty donates 3% of every sale to a local charity.
Maria’s ties to Ionia run deep. After moving to the area in 7th grade, she left for a time before returning to marry, raise her family, and invest in the community she calls home. She and her husband raised two sons and a daughter here.
Her passion for giving back shines through in her involvement with organizations such as March of Dimes, Girls on the Move, Relief Against Violent Encounter (RAVE), Ionia Community Awareness, Ionia County Animal Shelter, Zion Food Pantry, and many others. She also serves on the Ionia Area Chamber Board of Directors, Ionia Chamber Ambassadors and has held leadership roles in Business & Professional Women, including past President and current Secretary.
Maria specializes in residential, commercial, and property management real estate throughout Michigan, focusing on a 1.5-hour radius around Ionia. Her deep roots and unmatched knowledge of the area make her a trusted partner for buyers, sellers, and investors alike.
