About Mark

Mark was born in the mid-west to Dutch immigrants, grew up outside Philadelphia in a bi-lingual family, and headed west to earn a Bachelors’ Degree in Fine Arts from the California College of Arts. His education in the Arts taught him to use a creative approach to problem-solving.

Mark got his start in real estate as a licensed title insurance agent when he started a small title insurance agency with his family. After working in mortgage loan origination and title insurance, he secured his real estate license before relocating to Concord NC with his wife and 2 children. Since moving to Concord Mark has built, and actively manages a portfolio of income property for his clients and family. Mark teamed up with Harris Morrison in 2008 to focus on commercial real estate brokerage, and management, including income and investment property. In 2017 Mark joined together with Doug Donia and Harris Morrison as partners and began a new firm; New Branch Real Estate Advisors. Mark currently holds his real estate license in NC and SC and serves as the Broker in Charge for New Branch Real Estate Advisors.

When he’s not out advising clients, Mark and his family enjoy embarking on new adventures, experiencing different places and cultures and ways of looking at the world. Mark’s adventurous spirit and “joie de vivre” is evident in one of his favorite quotes, by John C. Bogle “…the most important things in life and in business can’t be measured”.
