I’m so glad I was referred to Mark by a family member. He made my first time home buying experience in West Loop such a breeze. He is extremely knowledgeable about the Chicago neighborhoods and very easy to work with. He is responsive and always available to answer questions. He is super patient and there was zero pressure to buy. He really wanted me to find a place I loved. I couldn’t have asked for a better realtor to work with. Highly recommend!

I very seldom write reviews, but exemplary skills and a major talent definitely need to be widely shared.
Mark Placek came to our rescue and listed our West Loop condo after a previous agent had 7 months to get our place sold. We had 2 offers during that time but after inspection, that agent completely fell apart and offered the potential buyer no solutions as well as no ideas for us as the sellers.
When Mark came aboard, we had a third offer within a week and Mark got that offer CLOSED. And yes, a few issues came up with the inspection but Mark quickly collaborated with all involved and came up with solutions beneficial to all parties. Mark Placek is a mover and a shaker and he is a rockstar agent , always professional and abundantly resourceful. Wow, we were so impressed.
He literally made this process easy and clearly has his skin in the game.
We are kicking ourselves for not signing him as our agent at the beginning - could have had our condo sold much earlier.
We are very grateful to Mark.

I had very little time and, as it turned out, no idea what I wanted. Mark understood my needs and introduced me to new areas of town to help me find the perfect property! He also gave great insight into helping me negotiate my offer and really quarterbacked everything to get me to a quick close. Mark is the best. My wife and I knew next to nothing about buying a house but Mark taught us all the ins and outs of process. He would inform us of what the market was looking like for the foreseeable future and what to expect. His response to any question or concern we had was lightning fast. When we wanted to go look at a place he was on top of it, we usually could see the house within hours if we really wanted to. After more than a year of looking for the right house (the market was/is wild right now), we found the one and Mark was there to close the deal in record time. Throughout the entire process my wife and I felt like we were in the best of hands with Mark. He's a great real estate agent and a great guy. I highly recommend his services.

Working with Mark was a great experience. As soon as I was ready to list, Mark was having open houses every weekend. I appreciated his organization and transparency on how he would communicate feedback and offers and how often I could expect those communications. From the moment I met Mark Placek, I knew he was the realtor for me. He has an AMAZING personality and is so easy to work with. He was available to me any time of day and made me feel comfortable with the stressful process of selling my condo. He patiently walked me through what to expect and made me feel like I was his priority. He is reliable, responsive, very knowledgeable, organized, easygoing and the list goes on and on. My wife and I worked with Mark and we just purchased our first home last month! It was a very exciting time for us and Mark was patient, fun to work with, and extremely prompt/quick in answering or getting answers to all of the questions we had along the way. Mark was great. As first time buyers, we weren't sure what to expect, but from our first meeting all the way through closing, he was great to have on our side. He was informative without being overwhelming. Very responsive. Gave great feedback about individual properties. Adaptive to OUR feedback as "what we were looking for" evolved. He's personable. Mark did a great job helping my family find the right house for us. We are first time home buyers and he took the time to answer our seemingly thousands of questions. His knowledge of the market led us to the house that we eventually bought. Mark was there from our first contact all the way to final signing and after. I would say this was not a typical purchase and took many rounds of back and forth and contingencies to get it done, but Mark worked with all parties and made it happen. Mark was also able to provide resources as needed through out the whole process. My wife and I could not be happier with the whole experience and result.

Mark is one of the good ones. He is very personable and easy to talk to. As first time buyers, we were nervous. I like to know what's to come and he was very honest with us. He explained the process and helped us understand what to expect. We discussed our needs and wants. He was not pushy and kept homes within our price range. He was always readily available to take our call, no matter what time. Once we got down to it, and were ready to make an offer, he was very knowledgeable and I trusted his expertise. He also kept us up to date, even if the new news was "still waiting to hear back". He truly does care about your best interest. I don't think we would have found our perfect home without Mark.

I rarely give 5 stars but Mark deserves it. He thoroughly researches the property prior to selling and explains the best strategy to go forward. Mark has the perfect mixture of professionalism and friendliness that is unique and sincere. I was kept up to the minute on all activity and I never felt as though I was bothering him with any questions. Responses were almost immediate (even though he was on vacation) and never rushed. I was taken care of throughout the entire process including closing. I HIGHLY recommend Mark Placek for your real estate needs.
