Mark is a class apart as our realtor. We spent a lot of time with him for a year looking for our perfect house in and around Bridgewater, NJ. He doesn't rush us, spends a lot of time answering all our questions and gives valuable opinions - like whether a specific modification/upgrade makes sense or not, highlights potential pitfalls, what to look out for, etc. We have nothing but good words for Mark. If we have any question that he doesn't readily know (like some obscure County rules reg. easements), he goes the extra mile and finds out from the city and updates us with the details. Mark was incredibly help when we were looking to move to the shore area. He spent almost a year with us looking for homes in Fair Haven, Middletown, and Rumson. Mark is very knowledgeable about the area. Mark was always on-time, courteous, and prepared. He always had an agenda and materials for the homes were going to see for the day. Mark never wasted our time. He always had the homes we were going to visit stored into his cars gps and chauffeured my wife and i around. Marks guidance and negotiating skills were very helpful especially when we were bidding on attractive but overpriced homes. Ultimately we decided on a home in Rumson but the offer/counter offer process with the seller was difficult at times. Mark was very patient and helpful throughout the process. Additionally, Mark also provided some great legal and inspection contacts. Finalizing and closing the transaction was painless and efficient. My husband and I began looking for our first home in spring of 2010. We originally hired a real estate agent who purposely lied to us and withheld information-- so we would purchase a property his own agency was selling. We had even begun paperwork before we realized what was going on. Needless to say, we cancelled our contract, and found ourselves without our dream home and without a real estate agent. But, things happen for a reason, because that is when a friend of mine gave me Mark Taylor's name. He told me that Mark was someone I could trust, and that he wouldn't steer us wrong. So I gave him a call, and I am glad I did! Mark took us out to see properties *one* time, and we found our home. We closed in one month, which is a hectic process, but Mark got us through. He was always easy to reach by phone and email, and if he didnt have an answer to one of our many questions, he got back to us asap. It was honestly a pleasure to work with him. Net/Net: Mark recently worked with my wife and I in purchasing our first house, in Essex county. Admittedly, we were a bit picky in what we were looking for but Mark was patient and seemed genuinely invested in making sure we selected the perfect house. My wife and I will certainly use Mark again for our next home and I would recommend him to friends/family without hesitation. VA friendly for any vets out there. Mark never tried to hard-sell us on a home. He was just as quick to point out problems and potential issues with a home as he was in highlighting its features, which was quite helpful as first-time homebuyers. He was always upbeat and realistic, never falsely setting expectations and keeping our spirits high when target house dropped off the market. Several bids were entered on the home we purchased but it came down to us and one other would-be buyer. Mark helped us strengthen our offer package, ultimately lending to our offer being accepted. Once the offer was accepted, Mark helped guide us through the next steps, ensuring we didn't miss any steps. He was always available and responsive while never overbearing or pushy. We began looking for homes on our own and met with many different realtors. They did not seem interested in us or what we were looking for in a home and were there simply to unlock the lockbox. Then, Mark was sent out to meet us for a showing and discussed the neighborhood, potential resale opportunities, improvements we could make, etc. and really listened to our comments on the property. We were extremely impressed with his professionalism and his ability to honestly connect with us as people and not just another client. He showed us countless homes, sent one of his partners when he was out of town, and worked us through 2 difficult (on the sellers part) bids. The house we finally found was an estate sale and had some extra legal work to it, and Mark was more helpful than our lawyers. He contacted the seller's realtor numerous times to keep the ball rolling on the sale when neither our attorney nor the seller's attorney were able to get answers for us.
