Mary was amazing to work with!
My husband and I worked with quite a few realtors over a 3 year period. Some were pushy, most didn't care what we wanted, none of them wanted a contingency, 1 even told us she refused to work with us until we educated ourselves on buying a home....this was our 2nd home purchase by the way. We were frustrated until Mary Hand showed up to show us a random home we saw online that we requested to see. Right off the bat she was down to earth and we felt so comfortable. The home turned out to be really gross and we continued to apologize for inconveniencing her for this showing. She put us at ease and told us that this was her job and it might take awhile but we will find it. She asked if she could help us and we agreed and told her what we were looking for. I warned her that I was SUPER picky since this was going to be our forever home I didn't want to compromise really on anything. Also, my husband and I had completely different tastes that somehow had to blend. She didn't even mind it and always made herself available to show us homes. Sometimes only one of us could come to the showings and that didn't annoy her like it did other realtors we worked with.
She let us take the lead when we wanted to but still assisted greatly. We saw so many homes but none of them felt right. She calmed our worry and told us not to force it, when it is right we will know. She even pointed out things about a home that we forgot about wanting, so we know she was listening to us about our wish list! We thought we found our home a few times and made some offers, but in the end we were not comfortable offering too high or going into a bidding war. Mary was also supportive through that. One day we walked into a house and we felt that feeling that we had with our first house, so we knew that was the one! We made an offer that night after much help from Mary. The next day as we were waiting for the seller's decision, I was worried that maybe we made a mistake, so Mary showed me the home again all by myself at the last minute. She still has no idea how much I appreciated that. They accepted our offer under asking and it was time to put our home on the market! I was pretty demanding on the price I wanted to list our home, and although it was a long shot Mary was all game and not scared of the challenge! She held an open house within a day of it going on the market and sold it immediately over asking! Everything we asked of Mary she did it, or got it for us, or answered it, etc. I am sad we don't get to work with Mary still and see her all the time, but she did her job extremely well and made our entire family happy. So this we will forever be grateful for. Thanks Mary for everything, anyone would be a fool to not work with you!

Mary is does a nice job walking you through the different things you may want to consider about the home you are looking at, as well and keeping up communication with you throughout the process.

Mary was a life saver, not only during the purchase of a home for my daughter, but also after the purchase. She was my “boots on the ground” in reviewing potential properties, as I live in Florida and was purchasing in Illinois.
Mary handled all aspects, of what became a difficult closing, professionally and her knowledge and guidance were invaluable to the completion of the deal.

Once closed, she provided referrals to professionals needed to complete work on this 120 year old home and was a constant provider of local resources I needed.

She frequently checked in on construction progress, so when a contractor I used failed to complete their contract, she provided a backup who stepped in immediately and is now completing the work. She even offered her husband’s help in getting things done! Amazing!

The renovations should now be complete in the next couple of weeks, at which point I will use Hometown Realty to manage the rental of the top floor of this home, which is a separate unit. I know I can return home to Florida, confident that should the tenant or my daughter need anything, it will be handled. I have complete peace of mind.

Thank you, Mary for your diligence, professionalism and going the extra, extra, and yes the additional extra mile! I so much appreciate all your efforts on our behalf!

Mary is hands down the best. Since day one, she was very responsive and accommodating to my schedule. She knew what I was looking for and always looked out for my best interest. As a first time homebuyer, Mary made me feel so comfortable and helped me understand everything I was signing. She was so great with negotiations and gave me advice when I was stuck. Highly professional, insightful, honest, caring, friendly and courteous to work with in the sale of our home..Highly recommend her for sales and when looking for homes..her experience and knowledge of Sycamore very valuable as she's part of this community also.
